My keyboard at home was broken by my son who likes to grasp it and throw it on the floor. So far, I can only read the message but not able to answer...
It's so cold recently in San Francisco, ranges from 7 degree C to 12 degree. I would turn on the heater before sleep time and make the room warmer, then set the timer to turn it off after maybe 1-2 hours. In these cold nights, my hubby has turned the heater on all night and put a pot of water in the room to keep the humidity. However, I would prefer not to turn on the heater for all night long. It's not good for baby's respiration system. My uncle always turned the heater on in his home when his son's young. Finally, he has esthma problem and there're several times that his son got sick and could not breath well. He was sick for days, refused to eat and drink, only laid on the bed and try to breath. Even he cried, he did not make any sound, only tear dropping from his eyes...everybody at home was so worry. Finally, he recovered. From then on, my uncle seldom turn on the heater at home.
I would say we have to handle it carefully. Either extreme is not good. If it's too cold, turning on the heater helps to keep the baby warm but we need to make sure that the baby is not overheated since tempeture affect the brain growth. Also, keep the humidity is important as dryness is not suitable for baby's sensitive skin and his respiration system.
