I failed my 1st IVF on last cycle and I take a cycle rest now.
To prepare the next IVF, I read some information online...I found that some overseas clinics recommend intercourse the night before embryo transfer because they have significant evidence that the chemicals in a man's ejaculate can have a dual effect on promoting implantation:
1. help regulate your immune cells so that they are more receptive to an embryo;
2. promotes minute retrograde muscle contractions that can help retain an embryo
3. improve uterine blood flow since that is part of the normal sexual response in women
HK centres usually ask ppl to avoid intercourse...May I have your comment please.
I have registered with the QM public queue to do the ivf in Aug, the nurse told me to call them on the 2nd day of period in July for 噴鼻. But I got quite abnormal period this month. I had M on 2 June, ended on 7 June but starting from 17 June onwards I have very litter blood everyday. I saw an O&G doctor and she said I'm probably with hormone 分秘失調. May I know if this hormone 分秘失調 will affect the ivf treatment or not?
Should I delay the ivf process as I don't want to waste this opportunity.
I have not come across any info that suggests having intercourse before ET is beneficial. This is not recommended, especially when you are doing a fresh ivf cycle because of the multiple follicle development.
The online information (overseas clinics?) may refer to other ART treatments such as IUI perhaps?! I could be wrong; my advice is to ask your doctor the reason(s) for avoiding sexual intercourse after egg retrieval but before ET.

Do you usually have regular periods? Does this 分秘失調only happen this month (Jun17+)?
In any case, call the QM nurse to get further instructions. Good that you discuss here early before starting any nasal spray. You should not decide on your own to delay your ivf; leave this decision to the QM clinic. Do not worry, this happens in some people and your place in the queue will not be canceled or given to others. Be prepared though your "ivf start date" may be delayed by a few weeks.
Don't get too nervous, good luck.

This 分秘失調 happened also in the Feb period, at that time I had 流啡 for 1.5 weeks and period (blood) for 3 weeks. I saw the doctor and she said I was hormone 分秘失調.
Then the Mar / May periods were normal, and abnormality happens again in this period.
I saw the doctor again and probably will do the 刮宮 next week to check the 子宮內膜. I will call the QM nurse to inform them the result and let them advise the time for ivf treatment.

I hope you are doing well. WOuld like to ask what is the level of E2/LH that suitable to do the FET.
My blood test for first day is 1016/ 10.2, is it normal? The nurse advised that it may take few more days for withdrawing blood for test until it reach the suitable level for E2/LH for FET.
I just got the call from clinic that I can put the embryos into uterus on this Wednesday, they said I can choose either ivf embryos or icsi embryos as both are in grade 1. My husband's sperm is normal and our reason of infertibility is unexplained. Can I have your suggestion on this issue? Thank you.
Sorry I didn't reply your previous post soon enough. Basically, E2 measurement gave very rough idea to whereabout your cycle is, and LH level was the main hormone of concern. Your doctor is trying to see when your LH suddenly rises (i.e. the LH surge), which tells him/her your window of ovulation. From there he/she plans your FET day.
In my own hands, both ivf and icsi embryos are equally good. But many believe ivf embryos are more "natural" in the way they got fertilized. So, considering the quality being equal, go for ivf embryos first.
Looks like you are doing well. Good luck!

Please don't be sorry for just a little bit late for replying our questions, we all understand that you are extremely busy and do appreciate your precious time for us. Your pofessional opinions for our IVF JMs are siginificant, made us feel much better and got our break. A million thanks to you.
I will go for IVF embryos as you advised considering it comes natural and seems more secure somehow.
It is true I am doing good this time, I haven't felt uncomfortable during ovulation these 2 months since getting IVF injections (225iu for ten days). I thought it is because my homone reacted to these injections and may be adjusted to normal? Do you know if there are similar cases like mine that IVF injections help them improve their body? Thank you for your reply in advise.

Ah, a week passes by so quickly. Usually, by day 7 of injections, the woman/her eggs will not be ready yet for 抽蛋. There are different policies for the follicle size before giving hcg trigger: some aim for the biggest follicle being 18mm or above, some aim for at least 3 follicles of at least 18mm. The decision depends on your doc's experience and also the number of follicles you have. Blood test will be done to see the hormonal levels as well, which helps to monitor your progress and adjust injection dosage (if needed). Very generally speaking, 18-20mm follicles are ripe; and since we want the most out of the many follicles of varying sizes, we may wait a little for the slightly slower ones.
I am feeling very positive today, so I will pass some to you :)
cutecutetown
Well, 4 follicles sound a little too few, especially when you make a comparison with those exceptionally good responders. Remember, quantity is often a compensation for quality. At the end it's still the quality that matters.
ICSI is so commonly practised these days that some centers exclusively do ICSI for everybody. I don't find ICSI results being worse than IVF, and it really helps when the sperm sample is suboptimal.
I think I'll need to pass more of my positive energy to you today so you have a double-dose. Best wishes,

thanks for your positive energy, 不過我比較細果2粒, 9同10mm, 有機會可以追上嗎?
I got injections of 225iu to stimulate follicle grow up for around ten days and my body reacted quite well to that, finally got 26 follicles and 21 embryos on Apr. But the hormone is extremely high which is 23,000. Thus I can't do ET but only wait for 2 months for FET. Tomorrow morning I will proceed the FET.
I wanna tell you more about myself. Around ten years ago when I was 22, I had one miscarriage and after that I felt that my body seemed getting weaker and uncomfortable painful during ovulation. This situation never improved even I went to many doctors or Chinese Medicine for many years until I got these injections which instimulate my follicles to produce more for IVF. I realized this improvement during these two months when I am waiting for FET. I wonder if these injections made my body back to normal hormone like before the miscarriage. I thought this is a question that not easy to answer. Anyway, I just wanna share my feeling with you and the JMs here as you all have accompanied me all the time.
I hope tomorrow will be my lucky day. Take care.
Susan

Now I get it, so you only got the 225iu back in April. Yes, I still remember you having many embryos frozen; you couldn't have a fresh ET due to over-stimulation. Back then I was teasing you that you made many jm's here jealous.
You are on your natural cycle this month and will have your FET tomorrow, correct?
Usually, most women won't feel anything when they ovulate. Do you mean you feel pain when you menstruate (i.e. during your period)? I try not to take you back to your sad memory of the miscarriage, but was it an early (<12 weeks) or late miscarriage? Early ones should not pose so much impact on your physical well-being. Is it some emotional obstacle you can't quite overcome? In any case, I am glad you are feeling much better and stronger now.
Let's mark today as an end to your previous burden and move on. Tomorrow will be a bright day for you and good luck!

It was early miscarriage, around 2 weeks as I remember. I didn't mean menstruate, but ovulation. Yep, most women don't feel anything during ovulation, before this miscarriage I didn't feel anything uncomfortable during ovulation like the others women do. But after that I kept having this feeling every time of ovulation until 2 months ago of IVF. It seems my body has improved and back to the normal ( don't feel anything during ovulation) now.
Thank you for the kind blessing and I do appreciated all your supports and help. Take care.
