use money back card to change the miles (odd balance of 9796 miles) from your younger son's account to the older son's account. He will get about 60% of the 9796 miles after conversion.

The method is:
(1) link your money back card to your younger son's AM a/c
(2) change 8000 asia miles from your younger son's AM a/c to get 20000 money back points (or 9000 miles to get 22500 points if the miles are going to expire)
(3) delink the money back card from your younger son's AM a/c
(4) link the money back card to your elder son's AM a/c
(5) change 16000 money back points to your older son's AM a/c to get 4000 asia miles

In this case, your older son will have 60000 miles and younger son with 30000 miles; good enough for 3 tickets to Japan or 2 tickets to Japan plus 2 tickets to Taiwan.

If you target to other destination with 20000 miles each, you may change the miles from your elder son's a/c or points in your money back card to top up the balance up to 40000 of your younger son's a/c.
