elmolly,
It's up to you when to wean Andrea but just like what Nillie said, moms in US usually start to introduce whole milk to baby after he/she turns 1 years old. I stopped bf Spencer when he's 10 months old (because I discovered that I had Amanda in my belly) and I gave him whole milk when he turned 1. My son's pedi told me that she weaned her 2 babies at the 13th and 15th month. She said that it's already good enough because baby should no longer depend so much on milk feeding. But, we should keep them from drinking milk until they are 3-4 years old, around 15-18oz per day at 1-2 and reducing after that.
Isacc.cheng,
Wow, you may need to buy a lot of formula!
Nillie,
Just an update of Amanda. After returned to work for 2 weeks, Amanda is sort of getting better now. My mom said that she eats more than before. She still cries, my mom always tells her that mommy has to go to work and Amanda needs to be a good girl. She recognizes my mom and is so happy to see her after the weekend (my mom does not take care of her during weekend). Now, when it's about the time of me arriving home, she will start look around the house for me. When she sees me, she waves her arms and legs and smilies at me - because she sees MILK.
She's getting bigger and holding her hurts my arms and wrists. Recently, my whole family got sick, it started from Spencer and my hubby - running nose, stuffy nose, cough.. then Amanda and me. Hope the 2 little ones recover soon, it's so hard to see them suffered.:-(
