And since most of u have big kids, may I ask what is the fee per month now for kindergarten/ primary school??? Since we may return back to HK, I want to do some research. Thanks!
OIC, thanks for the information! We just have a follow-up with BB’s doctor this morning, and she suggested Pulmicort. She said she would not recommend Singulair for baby under 1 year old. However, we decided that it’s summer time now, and want to monitor BB closely to avoid the attack. So we declined the Pulmicort also.
And for the schooling, any KG lasts for full day? Here in LA it’s more like day care +KG, so people pay like US$800-1000 per month for the full day there.
Alrene,
When I was in primary school (looooong time ago) I don’t think my doctor knew the preventive medicine yet. So I just took the oral steroid whenever there’s an attack – and I am just 5’1 now…….. Anyway, I changed to use Ventolin inhaler around the time I was in secondary school, at that time my asthma was not that bad. So I was never on any preventive medicine.
Cailford,
My family (my hubby, BB and I) now lives in LA. Since he is still working on his project here, we estimate that the earliest we go back to HK is near end of 2007.
Sorry to make u confuse, I have a baby girl, not a boy, and she has not had any swimming, medicine etc. I just copy that paragraph from somebody else.
".....細仔就每個月$2300+雜費 (包茶點,書簿)千幾元半年"
So your 細仔 is in KG, right?
Yo! I am 5'1" too even I am not asthmatic. And I told you before most of the guys I know with asthma as a kid are about 6ft tall! If you have read the leaflet on Pulmicort it does mention that long-term use of Pulmicort has not found to stunt growth.
Of course nothing is guaranteed. The bottom line is still the health of your girl. Asthma could be lethal. A friend of my friend died of asthma in his 40s and that friend of mine was almost killed by a sudden severe attack when he was 30!
If I were you I would not take that risk! Just a personal opinion though.
