One thing need to aware that is you have been lived in other country for a period (can't remeber how long) eg. you used to be studied abroad. Then you need to apply that country's 良民証 together with HK's 良民証 for submission. Some country may take longer time to process.

Dear Baby49,
I am planning to have my sons to continue their primary/high school study in Sydney. Would you please advise some idea about the good public schools for boy in Sydney (for oz citizen). How could you know it is a good school? Would you please share some of your experience?

I'm going to return Sydney with the child this summer holidays and hope to get more information about the edu system.

Hi today

By law, the public school's result cant be publication
so its quite hard to know which school is better.
The only way to know, is "word by mouth"
like ...friends, the real estate agents which around that area, school visit...

for my experience, when choose a school for my son when kindy, i been searching over 10 school around my living area(include my catching area, public or private)
1 years ago before enrollment.

and for those time, i been keep asking people, real estate agents, and the most important is visit the school and the principal ...getting to know more before i make the choose.

and at the end i coming up 3 of the choice,
and then i submit the application,
still some of it, isnt my catching area,
so need see principal for interviewing...

and at the end, my son can go to the one i like.

so the most important i can say is...

"research and review"

Thank you so much for your reply.
Would you please PM me the list of the schools you preferred. It would really help. Since I have two sons and I would like them to study in the same school.
From my friend who is working in agent for arranging study abroad in Queensland high school. She recommended me Queensland get a better education system but the game is you need to enter a good high school and keep good performance in school. The assessment for entering Uni is based on the school ranking and student average academic result. But my first choice is still Sydney due to family reasons.

There should listed who can cert the true copy in your application form, but last time I went to lawyer (a friend's friend) to cert it for me and cost $10 each cert.

Like wig, I'm also from Sydney but moved back to HK in 2004 to get married... My husband's side is in HK and that's why we are here. I miss HOME!!!!

I have studied in Sydney, so for mums & dads who may want some information on schools/ areas, I may be able to give some comments.

I juts got back from Sydney. I found myself in love with the city and wish to live there.

Many people come back to HK after they moved to Australia. I just wonder how you can adjust your life here. It is so different here in Hong Kong.

It is very bushy and pretty....

if I want to buy a house in Sydney, where is the best place?

Any suggestions?

Hi Summer & everyone,

Yea, I think the lifestyle is quite different. But I do like both places. For me, I spent my teenage years in Sydney, so I've always wanted to work those 'energetic' hours in HK. Now that I'm actually in HK, it's not as bad. HK is a glamourous city, with lots of activities and things happening all the time, whereas with Sydney, things are more relaxed but also more quiet than HK.

I guess there is no 'best place' for a house, it depends on what you want, if you have children, you might like to choose somewhere with better schools, or if you like to live close to nature, you may like to live slightly further from the city. It also depends how much you prefer to drive vs. taking public transport, as you may probably know, public transport is not very reliable.

I think when I get older (maybe 50/60 years old), I would like to return and live a relaxed lifestyle!
