Pupils accompanying their parents
Children accompanying parents who have the right of abode in or leave to enter the UK will normally be treated as dependents. Upon taking up residence in this country, overseas parents residing in the UK have the same right as anyone else to apply for a place in a maintained school.

Re: is it possible to let her study gov't school in UK?
Dear 2000mom,
I mean the applicants of 居英權 that one need to stay or pay tax at least 3 years before the child enter to University in UK , so the child may be have a chance (base on the University how to count) pay the school fee as a local residance.
Re: is it possible to let her study gov't school in UK?
Dear all,
I am a British Citizen who has been working in Hong Kong for 12 years, I have married my husband in Hong Kong and we will be expecting our first child in October. I want to enquire about the British citizenship for my child. Will she be entitled to be a British Citizen in United Kingdom? And If I decided to go back to United Kingdom, will my child be entitled to the benefit in U.K (e.g Medical, Education, Child’s benefit…….). If my child is entitled to British Citizenship, how do I apply for her citizenship in Hong Kong?
Hope someone can answer my question as I'm thinking whether I should go back to U.K to have the baby or have the baby in H.K.
Re: is it possible to let her study gov't school in UK?
