It's so expensive for 3 bedrooms of the condo in Scarborouhg ! Is it convenience for the traffic (MTR, bus station) ?

I'm envy of you. You could rely on your sister. I've no friend and relative here. It's so difficult to adapt here ! I think you could easy to adapt the new life.

Yes, Coquitlam = Vancouver 的高貴林, 其實我仲係香港, 打算明年同阿仔去溫哥華讀書, 阿仔今年10歲, 我諗等佢早d 去外國讀書會容易適應, 因我家姐住Coquitlam, 所以去到都係住係佢附近會好d. 其實心情都好worry, 因為my hubby會留係H.K., 去到那面, 好多野都要靠自己, 要獨立, 我都係一個好依賴既人, 所以都好擔心唔掂 :-( :-(, 因為過到加拿大,冇架車就冇咁方便, 我考左車牌十幾年都好少"渣", 唯有而家開始補鐘.

各位, 你地可唔可以分享下係外國既日子呀 :-P :-P

所以我好羨慕你有家姐在這兒，有親人總比朋友好的，雖然My hubby與我一起來，但他返工後，我也要獨力處理，比較可憐， :-( 好采在附近認識到一位樂於助人的鄰居，但她要也要上班的 ! :cry:
我完全不懂駕車的，冇車真的很不方便，過了冬天後，一定要比心機學了，聽聞在這兒駕車與香港完全不同，如果是一張白紙比較好的，有經驗的人說很多人在港"學壞師"，在這兒考了兩三次才 Okay ! 今天開始落雪了，駕駛者也慢駛了。

小朋友早些過來讀書真的比較容易適應。很多人會選擇中三後才來，讓他們在港學多些中文，但我就覺得十至十二歲過來的小朋友會比較好，現在加拿大和美國也有很多人學普通話，所以不用擔心。

sorry have no idea for housing in vancouver, as I lived in toronto.

like drum-stick, I don't have any relative here. I don't drive, so totally depend on my "lo".

lucky - we are only 2 of us, so very flexible and easy to adapt.

today got the snow storm, take us over an hr from home to work. Lucky (unfortunately) my lo does not work, so he did not wish to rush. just get up to plow the snow and drive me to work and back home.

Agree with drum-stick - if you are coming with your kid, and wish to stay here for good, better come early, so that the kid would mingle with the local kids and into the so call Canadian culture.

我都羨慕你地全家齊齊整整去加拿大, 起碼夜晚有個男人係間屋度安全d, 不過我另一個家姐會倍我一齊過去幾個月, 咁都冇咁驚.

我知加拿大同香港既行車方向.規則都唔同, 但希望到時去到那面, 會快手d pick up, 唔駛再慢慢學番. 你地都要努力考牌呀. 講到天氣, 多倫多係咪真係好凍呀, 我見過係Vancouver落大雪, 有個男人係條行人路到滑雪, 唔駛自己行, 方便好多

I don't have any kid, so I don't need to worry about their education.
my living area do have 50/50 chinese and other races, but most of them are very nice. I did improve my english while I stay here.

most of the time, I don't need to speak English, watch chinese TV, listen chinese radio, read chinese newspaper, most of the shopping mall we go - are chinese oriented.

we joined the badminton club, where we meet new friend - bascially from HK, china, or Vietnam, but all speak cantonese. so far so good lor

also, my friend introduce the BK site to me, and start to meet other mom in this topics, do get help and info from them most of the time.

我在七月中過來的，我有帶埋電腦過來，在入境時，亦填寫了攜帶電腦，入境職員只是口頭問帶部那類型之電腦，並沒有檢查行李，亦不用打稅，但是不知是否每個人都是這樣順利。

你說得對，屋企有個男人會好的，這兒很多家務都需要個男人幫手，代我家裏換水喉的師傅是香港人，他說原本當年他只是陪太太與子女過來 Settle down，之後他會回港工作，但發覺有很家務都需要男人幫忙，所以他決定留在這兒。

大人較難適應，我的小朋友很快已適應學校生活了，而且這兒的教育制度，令小朋友有信心，我曾到學校做 volunteer ，他們上堂有很多機會答問題，而且很鼓勵小朋友寫作，任由他們發揮，雖然有時 grammer 錯了沒有改，老師只是給意見，但致少訓練到他們的思維，與香港不同，限寫作字數。以前我的小朋友不喜歡寫作，但現在就越寫越多了。

這兒有的很樂意幫人，有的就不願意，好在我都認識到個鄰居好nice。

這兒的校車只接低年級的學生，高年級就要自己接或行路，如果沒車就要行路了 !

我都希望我先生好似你所講既水喉師傅咁留低, 唔止家務可以幫到手, 我個腦又可以轉番慢d, 又可以比我依賴

其實外國學校做volunteer係做d乜野, 點樣可以幫到學校手呢? 其實我諗我過到去, settle後, 學下英文, 因為擺低左咁耐,係時候操fit番. 另外再有時間, 學你話齋去學校做下volunteer。

另外你7月黎加拿大時, 係咪第一次land, 如果唔係land, 係以居民身份再入境, 應該填入境表時叫你申報, total value你帶入起的東西, 唔可以超過幾多$加幣. 如果超過係要打稅, (不過我未試過申報超過打稅既limit) 又唔知你地多倫多係咪同Vancouver一樣既procedure/rule 呢?

when I came in 2002, I prepared a listing - so call goods to follow (for my shipment) and goods to bring along. I bought my computer with me, no problem, but they just need to scan the harddrive and no other question being asked, and no tax.

I did not bring the printer, as the voltage is diff and need converter to change the voltage.

I am a full time working wife - 5 days a week, while my "lo" is a full time house man - he handles all sorts of work at home - cooking, laundry, repair and fixing. we shift roles.

we did joint 3 diff badminton clubs (Mon & Wed Night + Sub Morning) that's our weekly exercise. I am just the beginner but at least to do some work out.

yes, life here make no diff to me (as compare in HK). The only diff is 90% of my colleague is "white" but as I work in accounts dept. no need to "talk" that much - so my English is still good enough to handle "numbers" only.

the other things - I used to bring my lunch to work and still in the office - while back in HK, I go out lunch with my colleague, friends etc and do shopping during lunch hour.. here nothing.. :-( :-(

my family docot is Elizabeth Chiu in sheppard and leselie, but don't take any new patient.

I remembered when I go to frist markham place, they have a female family doctor that take new patient. but might be too far away from you.

where do you live?

學校好歡迎家長做 volunteer 的，開學時，學校會派 Form 給學生的，有的 copy ，有的幫手派 Pizza，張 Form有得選擇，而我因為沒有車牌，距離學校頗遠，所以沒有報名，那次只是因為 Helloween ，學生要在堂上切南瓜，臨時"拉夫" 的。

我是在去年 Land 的，當時已提交將會帶來的申報，已詳細列明，今年正式過來時，在入境時也在入境表上填寫了 Goods as follow，我買了個 rice cooker ，在清關時也有帶同張單去，但沒有打稅。好似日後我出外旅遊所買的東西就有個限額要打稅，唔知是否每人限額加幣 700。
