I play the one which is recommended by docdaddy. The model is Lama 2 (only one brand sold in Shumshuipo!)
I don't consider you let your kids to play becos
1. the blade is sharp
2. many small parts

Pls. take a look there and have fun for it.

My friend bought one lama 2 (mode 1) from 'Flying-hobby' in Yau Ma Tei two days ago. It costed him $680.

It is not a toy for small kids. Actually, a lot of guys playing real radio-controlled helicopters also bought lama 2 for fun at home.

A lot of spare parts are available for lama 2. It is quite tough and not so easy to be broken except the blades. Also, the spare parts are very cheap.

Is it funny, the lama 2?
My friend found it very difficult to play. He could not let it hovering above the floor & control it.
He thought that the plane was out of order. he brought it to me for checking. I played it & let it fly in front of him. He finally agreed that the problem arised from his hands instead of the plane.

Lithium battery which is included (1 pack), as well as the charger. Can play for around 10 mins when fully charged.

I agree from what your fd's said, it's not an easy thing to a beginner, esp. you need tunning a lot from the servo (as I have some experience for "crash" the blades to some objects inside my house) does it cause any difficulty? Anyway, heli is not as easy as playing plane at all...

You better buy another one for backup purpose.

10 minutes is not too short.
Firstly, you have to be very concentrate on your heli while you are playing, so you will feel tired already after 10 minutes.
Second, the motor is very hot after 10 minutes and need to stop for a while.
If you want to practice more, you can buy additional batteries.
