Sad to hear, but I think I can consider that 80K HKD to buy a licence is absolutely acceptable.
However, 13 weeks bridging course? Full time? I think I have to quit my job in Hong Kong, go there and stay 3 months, and back to Hong Kong and wait for application from AHPRA AGAIN ..... really frustrated !!!
BTW, I have already launched the application to AHPRA and ANMAC few days ago.
Hopefully I can hear some good news but I am prepared to take the bridging course as I read some posts which described that graduation from PolyU before 2011 does not recognised by AHPRA ......

Hey Vincy, I don't know if it is true that polyu start having external accreditation since 2011...
T ...
I have contacted PolyU. PolyU is externally accredited bythe nursing council of Hong Kong for many years. Really don’t know what happened in 2011.
They are searching for me which another external accreditationauthorities they also used and when did they start to use these accreditationauthorities. Hope I can find out the clue of the refusal.
The admin officersaid she never heard of any refusal registration before. I really hope I canhelp myself and also other students with the similar situations also. I stronglybelieve PolyU students are up to standard and highly qualified whatever year ofgraduation.

If they needed us to study the bridging course in oz, what kinda a visa should we apply while studyi ...
When your length of study is 12 weeks or more, you may apply for a student visa (but you need to ask whether your course is eligible for student visa). When you length of study is less than that, you can simply use a visitor visa to go there to study.
If you apply a student visa, you can legally work 20 hours per week (to be exact, it is 40 hours per fortnight. It is different).
Some bridging courses are more than 12 weeks and some are less than 12 weeks. It depends on whether you want to work during your study.
