My girl has big feet too. She is 29 months and wearing size 8. I think she will be a tall girl...her daddy is 6'1. I can see her outgrowing me in elementary school

我打算到步後再找學校, ny的學校大概不會迫爆吧, 我的親戚說好易找學校, 到時要請教各位那間學校比較好.

我無idea選那一間OB, 我都想去你上次suggest 的那一間，若距離不太遠的話.

其實而家都plan唔到d物, 因為我對ny原全陌生, 都係煮到來便食.

移民係老公的心願, 要放棄香港的一切並非我所想, 去到美國沒有自已的親戚朋友, 環境陌生, 又要生孩子, 心裡確是有點不知所措, 已多晚睡不眠, 為的只是孩子的未來.

BTW, 我個女9歲, 她腳的SIZE已超越我啦!

我當時係27weeks 上機.. 美國.. 我一竅不通呢..
問一問你老公啲親戚朋友, 去唐人街 mott street (勿街) 易唔易.. OK嘅話, 我下星期就問Dr. Wong 收唔收新症.. as 我唔sure 佢有冇quote 同你接生.. 佢而家好full booking, as 好多唐人出年生金豬BB呀!
Therefore, 我成日提住你, 你喺new york 有我哋, 係姐妹, 只係唔同阿爸阿媽生.. 出咗外就靠朋友架喇!

Don’t get stressed out about moving to a new environment. You’ll get used to it very soon. If my memory serves me correctly, are you going to live in Elmhurst?
Giving birth in US is pretty good ga. The facility is good and the room is not crowd. You can choose either single occupancy or double occupancy.
If you have any concern, let us know. All moms here are very helpful ga.

Glad to hear that you're moving to NY. When will you be here?? Don't stress out too much about your trip... as you said, you can't really plan anything...

Try to sleep more now, as another baby is coming soon... you won't have much sleeping time soon lu....

NY is getting cold la... The good thing is every house has heat and insulation... So you can still be able to wear a short sleeve shirt with shorts around the house... But once you get out the house, you need gloves, hats (with ear covers) and scarves. I think a nice-good jacket is needed for everyone too.

When you get to NY, first thing, you have to get is a baby's carseat. This is a law for NY state... And you need the carseat in order to get out the hospital... The hospital has to see you have a carseat before letting you leave...

We have travel system here which includes the carseat and bb stroller together.... So you can put only the carseat in the car while you're driving... or you can just put the carseat on top of the stroller and push while you're walking on the street... Very nice design!!

my son's skin is really bad too as i said. the worse part is his hands, then feet, legs and arms. imagine it, his hands feel like an old guy or someone washes the dishes without wearing gloves. sometimes the rashes are even all over his body. bad thing is - he doesn't like putting any cream/lotion on. usually we just do it while he just fell asleep (so, maximum once to twice a day, and sometimes he's waken up).

u're right ... since he went to school, his skin is even worse. so about 1/2 year after he started school, i asked the teacher to let me put a special hand-soap for him at school. it helped a bit.
also, most of time he wears long-sleeve shirts and pants at school except in a couple very hot weeks in summer.

sounds like yr daughter's eczema is mostly related to food allergy. that's even easier, coz u can just try to avoid those food. however, my son's eczema is mostly unrelated to food allgery. don't really know the cause ... after taken him to see different dermatologists and allergy specialists.

btw, sounds like yr little girl is kinda active too as a girl. my boy was like that when he's younger. since my boy is also very active, that's why i decided to send him to preschool earlier. now he's been improving gradually although he's still very naughty.

they hv a christmas celebration program at his preschool tonite. his teacher already warned me to stand by the stage to take him down in case he does something inappropriate (pushing, bother others, etc.). she said, "he knows all the songs, but u know .... "
this morning they had the rehearsal, the teacher wanted him to stand at the back but he insisted to stand in the front next to the mic and sang out loud.

Aiya!! Elmhurst好遠.. 近Queens.. 去唐人街好遠, as 最後1個月, 你要個個星期 follow up.. 邊個可以車你落嚟同陪你follow up??
Dr. Wong 只去 Beth Isreal Medical Center (1 Ave, 16th street, Manhattan) 接生架咋...

至於醫院費用方面, 你去OB第一次follow up, 姑娘會同你申請政府孕媽咪/BB medical insurance, 生仔唔駛錢架.. 只要你一落地, 第二日就去OB喥做body check, 俾晒香港你產檢嘅所有info 個OB 就ok.. as apply 個insurance takes at least 4 -8 weeks架..

what kind of medications has yr little girl's doctor prescribed for her?

好多個E生(兒科,皮膚科&allergy specialist)都開咗D好勁嘅藥俾我仔搽(Betamethasone which is stronger than the 2.5% Hydrocortisone, Elidel) 同食 (don't recall the name) since he's 2 yrs old.

for oral forms of medication, i never fed him the prescribed one since it's very strong and could be used for minor surgery purposes. so, i just give him Benadryl as needed. main purpose of the oral drug is to make him sleep better anyway. one dose of Benadryl usually make him sleep better at least for the first few hours.

for the topical medication, we still keep using the 1% cortisone pretty often, and sometimes 2.5% cortisone on the very bad areas, and try to avoid the Betamathasone if possible. so far i have never tried the Elidel on him, since the FDA has posted a warning of causing cancer.

talking abt her friend's daughter, i also have a friend whose daughter has exactly the same case. however, it's food allergy instead of eczema. so as long as she hasn't eaten something wrong, she's fine. she just needs to be very carefully for what to eat and always carries a bottle of Benadryl with her.

btw, speaking of schools, which school is yr older daughter going to now?
we just visited the Challenger school in our neighborhood and thinking to switch my boy over there next fall when he's 4. i think there's also a Challenger in LA. any comments?

i also heard that there're free medical insurance offered by the government for the pregnant moms, but it's only for the qualified low-income families in California. not sure abt NY ... u might wanna double check the requirements ....

其實歷仔畫下公仔係好事,可以練手腕力.不過畫牆就唔係咁好,你試買doodle pad俾佢,睇下鐘唔鐘意玩.

Mott Street係唐人街嗰邊,屬於Manhattan區,而Elmhurst係屬於Queens區. 都唔算近喎,約25分鐘by car or 45 min by subway. 依到有幾個moms住Elmhurst架,睇下有冇好介紹先啦,如果無先去唐人街囉.
有問題就問我地依班姊妹啦.

我會去探小肥bear,如果make到就去医院,otherwise就去佢屋企.医院就方便d,放工後搭15 minutes就得.不過要睇有冇OT law.
幾時有gathering嘅date就話我知la.
