Hi Nillie,
I have a question. Saturday, I caught a cold again and went to see a doctor. The doctor checked my blood pressure and he wondered why it's so low - 90/60. I am used to be slight low in blood pressure before, usually around 100/70. But, the doctor said that it's too low and I should feel uncomfortable and should easily feel fainted. I told him that I usually feel sleepy and I thought that I just need more sleep. He talked to me that my daughter is already over 7 months old and I should consider weaning her to take care of myself. It seems that she's "eating" my nutrition. My mom wants me to have some food with plenty of iron such as pig's liver but I'm afraid of reduction of milk production. Amanda is doing fine but she's really a light eater, no more than 4oz each feeding these days. I have just started her with one meal of rice cereals and would start to give her babyfood today.
Should I really eat some liver to supplement iron and produce less milk? Amanda cannot finish the milk I pump out everyday anyway. I usually pump 2 times at work, 6-8oz each time. Amanda also has stopped night feeding in the past week. So, I woke up one time at night to pump and I usually got 6oz at least. Since she only eats maybe 3 times in daytime, I always have 6oz of milk left. I exclusively feed her skin to skin on weekend hence, I will have another 12oz+ milk left every week.
I really want to feed Amanda breastmilk until she turns 1 years old but I also want to take care of myself too. I'm going to have a general checkup by end of this month and hope that everything is fine.
