我發現朱古力瘤後有看中醫 (但都是斷斷續續睇中醫) 但看了一年都沒有變少, 反而變大了一點 (不知是否後來醫生照超聲波時只在肚皮上照而不是像之前的醫生在入面照所以有偏差). 後來停了大半年中醫看不育醫生時就發現朱古力瘤由 4cm 變到 3.6 cm 了.

請問做針灸是否真的對ivf有幫助?

想問多一個問題 ,

我跟c6結婚了一年半, 第一年雖然沒有避孕 ,但我們在這半年才開始計算排卵期去 dodo. 其實以我這個個案來說 , 自然懷孕的成功率有多高 ? 是否應該立即做手術或做ivf , 而不應繼續等待自然懷孕 .

Thanks for checking on me. Blood test on Jul 22 was still rising (4150 vs 3500 on Jul 19 & 2700 on Jul 16). The doctors (I saw another one on next day just to seek an second opinion) did thorough check on the u/s, but the sac was still no where to be found. Yet, I didn't feel any pain anywhere even with doctor pressing on both of my tubes, so we weren't really sure if it was ectopic, but I was already preparing for the worse.

And then the day before yesterday and yesterday, the spotting came back in quite large amount each time, I called up my doctors, and they said the fetus is probably dying, and the blood was from the lining, and they hope that my hcg level will start to drop when I return for another blood test on Monday.

So I know there is no more hope but to accept the fact that this is another biochemical pregnancy, however, since the doctors are recommending different approaches, could you please also give me some comments?

- One doctor suggested to monitor the hcg level, if it keeps on dropping to 0, then nothing will be done.
- Another one suggested me to have the anti-cancer injection or have the scope operation done anyways.
- While the third one suggested me to 刮宮. As I heard from some jm that 刮宮 can be overdone and makes the lining becomes much thinner, I'm quite hesitant on this option.

Could you please share some comments on this? Also, I felt my stomach / uterus bloated a lot during these two ET & FET, it's almost as if my uterus was compelling the fetus out...is there such a thing or is it just me being silly? My hubby sees me going through all these and wanted me to rest for half a year, I am struggling as I dun wanna waste time, yet I'm not sure if I can take miscarrying the 3rd time...sigh...sorry for this long and whinning message...I guess I just wanna vent out and seek some advice. Thanks much in advance for your reply. You're our IVF patients rescue!

Hi sueden,

How did your ultrasound scan look like this morning? Any recommendation/suggestion from your doctor?

If the 3 or 4 eggs grow consistently and of similar size, most or all of them should be mature at the time of egg retrieval. In that case, they should be fertilizable. I assume your hubby's sperm is normal.

Dear snoopy333,

Being >35 years of age and if you can financially afford to do something more than simply waiting for a natural conception, I think you should not waste any more time. Try to decide 做手術或做ivf; these 2 options also take some time before the actual procedure because line-up and other preparations are often needed.

I personally do not believe in Chinese medicine or 針灸 as a "quick-fix" physical remedy. Both methods take long to realize the effects, and the effect(s) can be positive for some and none for others, perhaps some may even experience negative effect. To me, it is more of a psychological therapy; so, if you believe, I have no objection to your choice; but if you don't believe, do not just do it because others said so.

Dear dingsmama,

Did your hcg level drop today? There was a jm here some time ago (I don't think she's you) who had a very similar condition as yours.

I am not a medical doctor and can't give you official advice. But in the past years, most patients who showed similar conditions as yours would see their hcg drop, usually very slowly, so that no further invasive procedure was needed. Therefore, my "gut-feeling" is that if your hcg level comes down today, just wait it out for your doctor's instructions.

For your bloated stomach/uterus, was it just a feeling or a physical sign (e.g. increase in waist line)? Did you take any medication to prepare for the recent FET?

Your hubby is so caring! Even if your hcg/ectopic? condition will be resolved shortly, take his advice. Remember, he is in the same boat as you are; although the "physical" pain he didn't experience, he went through the emotions with you at all times. It is not a bad idea to give yourself a rest, and for now, don't set a time frame. Follow your physical needs and emotional preparedness. I am sure you will come back strong.

For now, don't think too much ahead yet, you will have plenty of time later on. We are more worried about your hcg level and its implications. Let us know how you are doing.

Hello 我想生三個,

胚胎合成後唔再生長 is a very common (and unfortunate) phenomenon, and the most probable reason is genetic abnormality. We usually do not "test" these arrested embryos to see what genetics has gone wrong; but based on centres overseas who do PGD (preimplantation genetic diagnosis), many arrested embryos are genetically abnormal. I know many IVF couples are not carrying any genetic diseases, and often times the genetic abnormality in embryos are "de novo" (just happen at random, unpredictable).

A very common genetic abnormality is aneuploidy, or having the wrong number of chromosomes, e.g. Down syndrome (or technically Trisomy 21), who has 1 extra chromosome 21. While some aneuploid embryo makes it to a livebirth, giving a child with various degree of mental retardation, many anueploid embryos will miscarry early, or will even arrest early in development while still in the lab.

If only one day we could produce all normal embryos, then we don't have any more sad and disappointed jm's here.

Hello Annie888,

Because of the IVF cycle, probably with down regulation (nasal spray), many women experience a longer span before periods return. The "solid blood" may be due partly to this longer span, and partly due to the medication you took after ET. Both situations are common and should not affect further ivf treatment.

- What should I do before I do ivf (e.g. 飲食, 日常生活方面) ?

- I already have the blood and sperm test report. Anymore test report that I need to do?

- Can I do exercise (e.g. running and swimming) during I waiting for bingo after the ivf treatment ? Some jm said they would not do any exercise (esp. running) after the ivf treatment. Is it same as for natural conception? Any exercise you recommend for ivf treatment or natural conception?

Sadly, my hcg still rosed as of today, it is now 5035. Talked to my doctor, and have scheduled operation on thur. Now that I have accepted the fact, I don't feel anxious nor fear, I just hope this will be gotten over with soon, so that I can start my rest & some 調理 soon.

I've also asked my doc about my stomach/uterus being bloated, he said it's coz of the ovidrel and if we're going for FET next time, he's still gonna give it to me.

Yup, I think my first priority now is to recover from this operation, and get well soon, that at least is gonna take me 1 - 2 months, and then I'll see how psychologically ready I am. At least the bait that my hubby used regarding some travelling sounds tempting to me at this moment.

Thank you so much for your advice, and the thought of thinking of me. And like you said, I do think that I will come back strong! And I also wanna encourage the rest of the jms here, keep your faith and keep trying!

Hi dingsmama,

You're so tough, hoped you will get well very soon.

Hoped you are interested to listen to my story: my 1st ivf was just failed last Saturday and m come today. For my treatment, I have transplanted 2 grade 2 embyros and 1 grade 1 embyros. I cried the whole morning today and your encouragement just makes me recovered to the reality.

Is it common that the 1st time trial usually be failed?Do u think that I should wait for the other cycle to start again or just continue to try in this cycle?

Let all jms here be brave to tackle all the difficulties we may face.

I failed my first IVF also and I remember my doc told me back then that some people don't react well with all the medicine being used when you try to induce the eggs. Of coz some lucky jms bingo at the very first try, but I think they're not the majority. So, don't feel too bad about it. I rested 1 cycle, but again pls consult with your doctor and like cutecutetown said, depends how psychologically ready you are. I know you will go through a very sad phrase, its ok, I did too. But I can guarantee you that it will pass, and you will feel hopeful again when you see the next embryos being inserted inside your tummy! So cry if that makes you feel better, but remember to wipe away the tears and show your biggest smile when you're ready! Let's add oil together!
