The grey base is cheaper at PTU? I didn't find it last time when I went there? Do you mean the Wanchai one? I didn't notice about your post on the special price in Sing, too bad. For accessories, I may need to buy again later, but not a rush, still considering to buy another bucket set instead.

Yes, TRUs buy 3 get 1 (cheapest item),
this Friday 27 Feb only.
Plus 3 times STAR points.

Actually you should check TRUs and see if you find anything you want first.
If you buy same price Lego, this offer = 25% discount. But if you have diff px items, not worthwhile.

Yes, grey baseplate ~under $80 in PTU, but much more elsewhere. Even the smaller shops in MKK sell at above this px.
(No wonder they are usually out of stock.)

And LSW, Carly, all buddies,

Since I have a Sing Lego shop VIP card (from our purchases last time) plus more purchases I made when I was there and then again about 10 days ago,
if you have friends going to Sing / you are going to Sing,

1. I can buy online for you then arrange for delivery to hotel, for purchases above $100 (non-member = need purchases of $300+).

2. You can get 10% discount on non-sale items (no further discount on sale items).

3. If you are going yourself and can let me know in advance enough, can hand you the card and return to me after your trip.
(not sure if they will match the name, I hope not.)

4. This VIP card is valid up to Dec 2009.

5. The shop's px includes GST, so if you are taking the goodies out of Sing within 2m of purchase, then can ask that shop (when making the purchase either in shop or even online), to let you have another voucher for claiming GST, they will gladly do so. Only vouchers for purchases made on the same day can be combined.
The GST refund is not based on %, instead it is in tiers, i.e. $xx to $yy = $zz refund, $aa to $bb = $cc refund....

6. Delivery is made really fast, my recent purchase = delivered the following day.

Hi lamsuetwai,

If I go to Tokyo, most of my time I would stay in Keio Plaza. It's just 5 minutes walk from Shinjuku station. It is on the other side away from the noisy spot of Shinjuku. Though it so, there are still considerable choices for eating in the neighbourhood.

Since it is a big hotel, airport buses stop there. Moreover, the hotel offers daily buses to Disneyland. Last time, it was free. I am not sure if it is now.

Actually I don't think Kv is gifted as he interacts quite well with his classmates in school and quite sensative to other people's feeling from their tone, facial expression and body language.... so better to save the test fee for books and Lego! (I heard that gifted children usually get problems in dealing with people and feel bored at school ....)

He took a 4-week OM semiar (a consecutive of 4 Sundays @3 hours) before going for the competition. I just went through the lecture notes with him in that morning (we even didn't do any supplementary exercies before as he'd prefer to watch TV

).

Regarding Chinese books, Kv likes to read 《冒險小虎隊》recently. He has already gulped ~15 books in a week. What makes my head itchy is that he is too indulged in chin readers and seems not interested in Eng readers now....

Possibly his friends / classmates are all reading this series ==> he's reading too.
And since he's already read so many Engl books, no harm in going through Chin books.
Balanced development ma.
Piglet like some books in this series too, but not all. Don't know how he makes his choice. Appear the same to me.
I find the books uninteresting, no head no tail sometimes. Actually not as interesting as Story Ferris Wheel, etc. But then Kv and piglet are boys, and they have their own taste. !

For Engl books,
Piglet likes Horrible Sc / Geor / Histories nowadays.
That's apart from Star Wars, Clone Wars. And Bionicles. Some of these are comics.
But the SW and CW and Bio books are all quite expensive.
Found a Star Wars magazine recently in Dywoks, $35@.

We are going to TST TRUs ~7pm tonight.
Hope the goodies are all gone by then ==> nothing to buy ! haha !
