Hi BS,

Do you have any links or pictures of the Horrible Sc Handbook that you mentioned to me days ago?

Comm Prexx is on sale now. However, I can't find the handbook there. I wonder if I have seen it before.

Piglet likes Horrible Sc / Geor / Histories nowadays.
That's apart from Star Wars, Clone Wars. And Bionicles. Some of these are comics.

There are books, and handbooks.

Handbooks = more colourful, ~HK$110@, so need to wait till sale, eg Joint Publishing, Popular.

Books = black/white only, ~$80@.
I got my pack of ~10 books from BkPpl last time we bulk-purchased, 12.99 pounds or so ja.

Magazines = I found these in Sing Popular, S$5.95@ no discount, also in Takashimaya.
But not found in HK, I went to the magazine shop in Worldwide House and asked but the shopowner said maybe not found in HK. But found in Australia and Sing.

There are many series :
Horrible Science
Horrible Geography
Horrible Histories
The Knowledge
Murderous Maths

I also found a booth in Bk Fair (the July one) selling full set of these. But still quite expensive.

I was there at 7pm but left in 15mins， didn't see you wor. Bought those mini figures only, suprise me, there's one box duplicated and I　didn't realise at all when i paid, so careless!

We got there ~7:45pm, piglet consumed 1 piece of pizza on the way.

Didn't buy anything in the end, quite disappointed, cos all the new release were not around. Only the "old" release available.

No more HS Handbooks in Whampoa Popular today. I bought 2 new handbooks on 2nd last day of its sale earlier this month, and there was still 1 left, but no longer there.

Forgot one other source :
the bookshop in British Council, Admiralty

But the cheapest is in Sing Popular.
And a lot more books there.

Also found today that there are 2 editions :
an older, 1st edition (published in 1997), under Hippo publisher which is a subsid of Scholastic.
and a newer, 2nd edition (2008) with a little more in the book, eg quiz.
Both editions cost the same but the 2nd edition has a few more pages (ie the quiz).

Some books are 2-in-1, i.e. 2 titles bound into 1 book. Not sure about the cost.

I went to TKS shop last night and bought 4 Lego items: Agents mission 7, Agents mission 8, City Crawler Crane and Indiana Jones Peril in Peru

Besides deducting the lowest priced item, they further deducted $150 (the Lego lai-see for purchase over $800), hence net price around 30% off! :mrgreen:

When I got there, almost all hot items gone. So I asked the shop staff to check whether there's any stock I wanted in the warehouse. They could finally find the cralwer crane for me......

btw, the buy-3-get-4 offer was not applicable for small box racers and pirate mini-figures.

Buy 3 get 1 free is not applicable for 2009 new release. I went to the aberdeen one during lunch time but not a lot of stock. I was looking for the chef mini figure, let me know if you see it next time.

my son bought 4 boxes of Lego mini-figures as well $34.9@ mainly mission series.

yes, no more new items left. i found 2 boxes of Technic around $100+, buy can't found 2 more boxes with $100+, so didn't buy anyway.

my son bought the playing cards as well. one box with 15 packs = 80% off..........great deal.

I stayed at Hotel Century Southern Tower in Shinjuku twice. 3 min from train station and department stores. Room is relatively spacious and breakfast is not bad.

Remembered that you were interested in their services. Well recently I bought some Lego from US, and the packaging by Lego was sooooo excessive that it would cost me a fortune to have it shipped to HK by One.Now.
I asked for repackaging service, US$10, and the shipping costs were reduced by half. So better though still quite expensive.
Shipping costs ~28% of item cost when repackaging was required. But the "normal" cost should be ~23% of item cost.

Thanks very much for the info about one.now.
So, because of the high service charge, it is only justifiable when buying something not available in Hong Kong or something really cheap.

BTW, I have bought 2 new HS handbooks from eBay. Cost me around $60 each, including shipping charge. Have not received the books yet. Have to wait for ~ one week.
