the max. rates of FTB A/B are frozen until Jul 2014, meaning in these few years time if you are not getting any pay rise, you would received the same FTB A/B.

Also, the $150,000 income test for FTB B is also fixed till Jul 2014. (this one doesn't affect me, we are earning far below this)

The individual tax rates are the same, but if you have a company car, you may need to pay more FBT.

Thanks for the information on financial budget! We plan to buy a car, now don't know if it is still beneficial to buy it under the company's name........

BTW, Springfield Lakes is a nice place, only that it is in the Ipswich Council region, not really belonging to Brisbane.

oh..one more thing, the school uniforms expense now included in Education Tax Refund, good news for the parents have kids in Primary/Secondary school.

what is the benefit if you buy a car under company name?

yes, we love that area!! And the rent is cheap too. Is the Lease agreement usually 6 months there?? I am thinking we could possibly to rent for 6 months to a year to see. However, it all depends on what location of my future job in Brisbane!

I realized that when we drove around and saw the flag/sign saying Ipswich Council.

Also, is there any childcare centre? as my boy is going 2 days a week at the moment.

呢區有child care service, 我係小學對面見到間, 隔離區一條龍學校亦由childcare 開始. (不過, 個區最好不要考慮). 間中亦收到family based child care廣告.

the education tax refund never enough even without uniforms expense included. because i use to upgrade computer..... this year thinking to buy a ipad2...

I saw the primary school but didn't see the childcare centre. Probably we was driving and the childcare is at the other side. the primary school is very new. Is your kids go to this school??

Do you mean the state school opposite to the lakes?
That is very new, started since 2007. My sons went there for a year. They transferred to another school now, have to consider the options for high school.
The state school is good, but their old principal got promoted and they have a new one now. Don't know if it is still good or not.

Yes, the state school we saw. look pretty new, doesn't look like 4 years old though.

do you know where is the closest shopping centre? I only saw IGA, McDonald there and a shopping village. Where is Coles or Wollie or any Asian geocery shop closeby?

There is Orion shopping centre just round the corner of McDonald, less than 5 min's drive.

the proposed train station would be next to it.
It has many shops there, the branded ones. Woollies, Aldi, and Big W.

Coles is in the Springfield Fair shopping centre, which is in the next suburb, Springfield, less than 10 min's drive.

there is one small asian grocery in Springfield, but they sell expired goods, so I don't go there.

I usually buy asian food in Sunnybank, 30 min's drive.
Fish (comparatively fresh) in Inala, 20min's drive.
cos I go to Brisbane area everyday, so I buy those things on the way back. I don't know much about Goodna, Redbank area, because I seldom go to those areas, except visiting the libraries. They are also around 20min's drive away.

The Orion is in the exit after Springfield Lake Boulevard exit. Very near. McDonald is open 24hrs, IGA opens until 8pm, and there is a "night owl" convenience store newly open. a number of restaurants. medical centres, pharmacies. BWS and liquor stores, @~@. Quite a self-sufficient place, if Asian food is not a must.

I now buy food alterante days, no need to store up food at all, unless for being economical.

Have you decided to relocate to Brisbane?

Yes, we have decided to move back for good. Early next year probably but depends on if I am pregnant or not by then. We give us another half year to see as I want to have our 2nd baby in Sydney.

I am living in Runcorn, close to 8 Mile Plains side (Runcorn seperated by a Railway). My wife gave birth at Sunnybank Private, doctor is Pang Ng. Malaysian chinese speak cantonese. Lots of Oz see him too. Very caring, reasonable charge and very well known good OB. All his charge covered by health fund so no gap to pay. Once passed saftety net, I only paid $12 per visit... Overall I only spent around $2k for all medical related charges. Still have half of BB bonus to spend.

as a parent, we are very concern the school for our son. unfortnately, we can not afford private. so we need to search the good state school. apart from that, also need to consider my new job location.

if cannot afford private, better choose somewhere other than Springfield Lakes. The existing high school (Woodcrest) is very "unpopular" among parents. There is a new high school recently opened, the springfield central state high school, so new that no one knows how good it is. (But by the time your child goes to high school, it's a matter of 10 years later?) The options for high schools are more important. primary school, not much difference between good state school and private.

Good high schools, I only know from my friends, are:

Brisbane state high school, excellent academically, discipline depends on your own child.

Mansfield state high school, well disciplined, OP results above average. But they have new principal recently, don't know what changes there will be.

I heard from friends that north side of Brisbane also have some good schools, maybe hk_woman68 can help you there
