聽完你講薑醋會有影響我即刻停冇再食啦, 唔該晒你. 另外我仲有問題想問, 我本黎係全泵奶媽 (之前講過因為阿女出世時唔夠力啜奶頭), 見佢滿月重得幾好同啜奶樽好有力, 尋日開始試番埋身餵, 佢一開始係好有力, 但啜啜下又好似以前咁訓著左, 搞極都唔醒, 一放番佢上床就醒係咁扭, 再埋身俾佢啜一陣又訓過, 全日幾乎冇休息過搞到我好累想放棄, 咁意思係咪佢已經習慣左奶樽個咀形所以唔再要我奶頭? 我可以點做呀?

it happened on me when I had Gabriel. for complete 2 months, Gabriel knew how to drink from a bottle, but not on the nipples.. I just keep going for 2 months, serve my breast and then feed him with bottle of BF.. and I pumped my milk.. I bet, you will understand how tried and how angry I was.. and.. finally, he learnt how to latch on.
it is true, your nipple is completely different from the teats, if you want her to latch on you, try what I did.. every single feed, skin to skin before you back up with bottle.. she will learn. Also, join the local breast feeding support group, that is a very important resource for you.

just want to share my breastfeeding experience and some breastfeeding products.

i've started breastfeeding ever since day 1 in the hospital. i've to say that i'm really lucky that we don't have major issues with latching on or milk supply.

breastfeeding is one of the things i look forward to most when i was pregnant because only a mommy can do this, this is such a unique bond between me and my baby.

i do feel the deep relationship everytime i nurse, especially when she's so concentrated on eating, and i'm like the center of her life (she's mine too).

pump - i started pumping at the 2nd week, because the engorgment woke me up one night and it was really uncomfortable. we rented the hospital pump while i placed the order for a medela pump from www.hackleyhme.com. this website was posted by nic977 on the 給餵人奶的靚靚準媽媽 page. the metro bag was $240 vs. $320 at babies r us.

at the beginning i can only get less than 10ml per pumping. as my milk supply builds up i'm getting 4 oz. on average. there was one time i got more than 8 oz after we went out for almost half a day. i only pump once a day because i usually don't have time to wash the accessories until my husband comes home from work.

i do like the medela pump because it's effective, i have the metro bag version so i can take the motor out and carry it easily.

nursing bras - i don't have big breasts so i prefer wearing a sleeping bra all day. i found mine at motherhood maternity and they're really comfortable. last time i went to the outlet store and my size were on clearance for $7.99, it's really a great deal.

nursing pads - i use both lansinoh disposable and reusable pads. the disposable pads are big and have great absorbancy. i use them when i've to go out. when i'm at home i use the reusable ones because it's more economical and environmental. they're smaller and will soak through sometimes at night.

nipple cream - again i'm really lucky that i don't have any sore nipple problems after the first 2 weeks. i'm still using the little sample tube that i received from the hospital and i'm using it just because i don't want to waste it.

milk storage bag - i use lansinoh bags and they're great, double zipped on the top and never leak. the only thing is that the markings on the bag are not accurate so don't rely on them.

breastfeeding cover - i used to plan ahead and pump everytime we go out. then i saw people using the breastfeeding covers in the mommy & me group so i ordered mine from ebay. it's pretty and light. now i can nurse in the public and don't have to worry about the engorgement discomfort. i can also save the pumped milk for later on after i go back to work.

i'll try my best to breastfeed for as long as i can, this forum is where i find encouragement (and answers to my questions)... i'll add oil and good luck to all mommies

defrose your milk--- keep them 8-12 hours in fridge, so it will melt naturally. then just use warm water to warm it up.. that is the best way

多謝你既分享, 你好叻呀一開始到宜家都咁順利, 我就唔係啦, 我個女一出世唔夠力啜同啜唔夠一分鐘就訓著左點整都唔掂, 試左幾餐奶都係咁護士見我同個女咁辛苦俾左第一口奶樽佢之後佢就唔識啜我啦, 所以一直都要到時到候泵晒出黎餵好辛苦, 到佢滿月後我日日訓練佢, 呢排見到有少少成績但距離成功仲有一段距離, 希望我可以堅持得到, 我最怕係未到佢識啜我已經回奶啦.

Agree with Nillie, do not use very hot water to warm up the frozen milk. Take it out from freezer and keep it in the refrizerator overnight before use. Particularly if you are using non-BPA-free bottle, you should not use hot water to warm it up as the bottle may release toxic substance in the milk.

Time passes so fast and you will find out that you actually have done so much as well as are able to deal with all kinds of difficulties afterwards. For your case, you may need more patience and time for your daughter. Some moms here said that some babies are able to latch better when they grow older. What you have to do is offer the breasts for every feeding before giving her bottle. At least, she needs to "do something" every time. I did it for my son who was also not able to latch as he's bornt premature and my nipples are small and short. So far, he took both skin to skin and bottle through the whole breastfeeding period. He's now 2 years 4 months old and I'm still breastfeeding my 10 months old daughter who does very good on breastfeeding - just too good - she refused to take bottle before; now she's okay to both but still prefer skin to skin.

Keep skin to skin and pump, avoid the food that would reduce milk production, eat & drink well, rest well : I think that you can keep breastfeeding for a long time. At least, I'm still breastfeeding my daughter for over 10 months. A lot of people are asking me when I'm going to wean her from breastfeeding including my mom, my husband and some of my friends. Well, I keep saying at least until she can take whole milk (that means when she's 1 years old). If possible, I would like to stop in between 15-18th month. If you believe that you can do it, you'd be already half way there. Otherwise, you will never able to make it. Take care.

我宜家盡量安排每餐奶前都俾佢啜下先, 等佢知道唔係話食就有得食咁舒服, 要付出先得, 點解我話有少少成績呢, 之前我每次谷奶脹脹地時俾佢啜 15mins 都冇料到兼訓埋 4 隻手搞佢都唔醒, 呢排過左 15mins 後明顯個胸係鬆左, 不過啜完一邊已經冇晒力啜兼訓著埋, 所以另一邊通常都係泵出黎即餐餵埋算, 不過俾佢啜過嗰邊我試下泵出黎竟然都仲有成 2oz 奶, 即係啜得都唔清, 搞到我都唔知佢究竟啜左幾多落肚, 俾得多佢又驚飽得滯, 因為我個女好似食極都唔飽咁成日好似金魚咁口擘擘, 俾幾多奶佢都照食, 同埋不論佢勁肚餓或者唔肚餓佢都會食晒, 同埋好鐘意嘆奶, 用奶樽餵佢餐餐都食成半個鐘多, 之前以為一個孔既奶咀出得慢咪試過兩個孔, 時間都係一樣仲"族"奶添, 呢個女一出世連食都懶真係冇佢乎. 有乜辦法唔好俾 BB 嘆奶呀?

i'll start using warm water now, my husband is very impatient and he wants to have the milk ready sooner everytime, but i'll let him know that it's not a good idea.

you're doing whatever's best for your baby, and i believe things will get better. my baby will fall while feeding too, sometimes we can wake her up but sometimes she just doesn't want to continue. this situation gets better recently as she's older now and doesn't sleep as much during the day.

make sure you keep pumping in order to maintain the milk supply. i thought nillie said before that as long as your work hard enough, you'll have enough supply (unless there's some medical issue). there's a mom in my mommy and me group who can't breastfeed since the beginning, she has very sensitive nipples and it's too painful for her to nurse, she pumps like 8 times a day and now her baby is 5 months old and she's still giving her breastmilk exclusively.

my hospital has a newborn club where i can go and have a nurse supervise me when i breastfeed, she'll also weigh the baby right before and after the feeding to check how much the baby has taken in. i've been there only once but this is pretty reassuring as i know my baby is really eating. maybe you can check with your doctor to see if they offer this service?

i don't think it's a good idea to rush your baby to finish the milk, she may just spit up more afterwards... so babies are slow eater, i think it's just their style......

All these are normal for newborn, suck little then falls sleep, eat a lot seems not know when she's full.... I have seen all these when my 2 kids are little babies.... You can feel your breasts softened, that means your baby is really getting milk. 2oz of milk in the first month is not too bad for pumping. Sucking is really a heavy exercise for little baby and that's why she will fall sleep during feeding. Even though my daughter is almost 11 months old now, she may fall sleep when I feed her skin to skin but she will cry if I pull out my nipple before she's full.

Young baby's stomach is small and she cannot hold a lot at one time like adult. As she's still young, breastfeeding is a heavy task for her. You cannot expect her to finish fast. Also, since she needs to be nursed for so long, you may wonder why she needs to eat so often. Again, it's normal and common, some babies need to be fed every 2 hours (from the beginning of the 1st feeding). Actually, your daughter also spends around hour an hour, she's really treating you good. My daughter needs to be fed skin to skin at least 45 minutes each time, sometimes, she can continuously suck for 1 and a half hour. Then another 1 hour, she needs to be nursed again. I could not even sleep that much. But, everything got better when she reached her 3rd month. So, keep your fingers crossed and observe the change of your daughter.

Baby's mouth, throat and stomach are small and she needs time to grow. 2 months before, I introduced a new bottle to my daughter (because the current one is not BPA-free) but she could not handle it. My mom said that it seems that the nipple allows too much milk out at one time. My daughter cried and refused to use it. See, even my girl is already 9 months at that time, she may not be able to use nipple for bigger baby (the one I used was for baby 6 month+). My son even used his infant level 1 nipple until he's 9 months old.

We are fine but Amanda still eats so little, either milk or solid. Sometimes, feeding her is really make me so tired and frustrated. She will move away her head and close her mouth tight to avoid the spoon when she does not want to eat. But, once she finds out that it's the food she likes, she will scream for it.

I don't have a plan to wean her yet. When everything goes smooth, pumping is not really a pressure, I cannot imagine that time flies so fast. She's going to be 1 next month. I pump 2 times at work and occasionally 1 at midnight. Since Amanda is having solid now, she does not need a lot of milk (she only drinks 4oz each time). But, she really wants skin to skin in the morning and before bedtime. My mom keeps asking me when I'm going to wean Amanda and she mentioned that it might be tough as my girl is so stubborn. We may need to mix the whole milk with breast milk for her later to gradually wean her from breastmilk. Honestly speaking, I wish to wean her in between 15 to 18 months but just not sure.

好開心呀我個女終於都識得埋身餵, 今日係第 4 日啦, 我宜家唔駛再每日泵奶泵 5 次咁麻煩, 終於體會到呢種咁方便又貼心既感覺, 但又有另一個問題出現, 就係唔知點解佢咁易嘔奶, 之前用奶樽餵佢只係平均每 3 日先嘔一次奶, 份量都只係一兩啖, 但呢幾日每日至少都會有一餐奶食完嘔, 係掃緊風時嘔, 嘔既份量估計大約 1oz, 我睇過好多次佢口仔係完全貼住我乳暈就算啜到風入肚都唔會多過用樽餵, 但點解仲會咁既?

Congratulations! Hope you enjoy the fun and warm feeling of skin to skin. Well, splitting out milk is very common for young baby. In case that it's not a lot, it would be fine. To avoid this, you should burp her lightly, pick her up slowly after feeding. You can consider rubbing her back to help her burp instead of padding her. Also, you can just put her in a vertical pose and have her head leaning on your shoulder for 20-30 minutes after feeding. My friend's baby split out milk very easily and it's what the doctor suggest her to do it after every feeding.

Once baby grows older, you may not need to worry about splitting out milk and burping.

my baby spit up a lot too, and it doesn't happen only right after feeding, it also happens like 2 or 3 hours after. it worries me in the beginning, then i read that as long as it's not projectile vomiting then it shouldn't be a big problem. as long as your baby is gaining weight then she's okay.

i also read that even it seems like a lot that they spit up, only part of it is the milk, the rest may consist of saliva, stomach fluid and mucous.

this may be weird but i'm wondering if anyone has tasted breastmilk, i tried mine and to me it tastes like spoiled milk.... isn't it supposed to be a little sweet?

你個B幾大呀？你食嘢有冇介口？
通常人奶係清甜架，比起美國普通formula係甜少少，通常都比formula稀D，如果D味有D怪怪地，一係變壞咗（可能你雪櫃唔夠涷，奶放太耐。。）一係你食咗D味道好strong的食物，例如garlic, curry, chili，有機會令D奶有一陣味。你平日食D咩架，湯水多唔多，你自已有冇便秘問題。

i tried the fresh pumped breastmilk and found it tasted like spoiled milk. not sure if the frozen ones taste the same or not.

my girl is 3 months old and she seems to drink the milk with no problem. i didn't 介口 but we don't cook with very strong taste, typical cantonese food.... my mom is here these couple weeks so she did make some soup everyday, typical chinese soup too..

i don't have problem with constipation, usually go everyday, at most every other day. and i do eat fruits too... i tried the similac advance last night and really like it... tastes like malt milk.
