Notes: I think Lau Pat Sat is no longer good la! I have tried most, may be I just miss those good ones, can you recommend to me any particular shop is good?
I have tried Man Tung Kee's Hainan chicken rice (which is Good), Kar Sou fish noodle soup (also good), Mandarin hotel coffee shop Hainan chicken rice (not good, below standard).
Hong Lim Hawker centre (Opposite to Furama hotel) is quite good. e.g. Prawn noodle.
For Hotel, "Stamford swissotel" at Raffles city is very good. Merchant Court not bad, I like its swimming pool. Hotel Sentosa, I like it very much , but you must choose for room facing the seaside not to the hillside.
there's a pretty big coffee shop called 'Maxwell Road Food Court'-- which is within walkable distance from ChinaTown----(walk along Smith Street 食街 from the main ChinaTown Road-until the next parallel road (there's a 'Yu Eu San'余仁生& 廟), turn right and walk along this road for about 5 min, you will see the Maxwell Food court. The 雞飯, Satay etc are excellent!
If you like Peanut Ice Kacang紅豆冰, then you should visit Annie's Dessert in coffee shop near Tanjong Pagar MRT.
Forgot to say that Annie's Ice Kacang is the most famous in Singapore! Most singaporean knew about the shop. Usually there's a long queue just to buy the dessert! it costs about S$1.50.
No Oxford reading tree series at 大眾書店 and those at Raffles city, but they do have many other English story books. A little disappointed that books are not very cheap at all (except for those on special sales), in addition have to pay GST tax. I borrowed a 大眾書店 VIP card from my friend and get 10% discount.
I also cfmd SQ tickets for husband & I. I am now hesistating whether to go with my daughter of 17 months.
