Em, I am not sure what style of your CAC system. because for our condo, we had a "air mouth" (translate it straightly from Chinese). It will have a horizontal "cover like blinds" and a vertical blinds inside... for our case, the inside blinds shutted...
yes, talk to your banker. I am sure they are happy to sell you more products. When we applied for mortgage, there are a list of extra "services" they can give us like Gold Credit card, Unlimited credit card, etc. You know, more service they can sell you, better they look... so talk to the banker la. How long have you worked in Canada? i think that is on your credit file as well.
you should get your mortgage arrange ASAP. At least get one bank to get approval first. August may be too late. The rate is low right now. If you wanna shop for lower rate, do it closer to the closing date, but having the approval is important ah... especially for your credit history case, better discuss with the bank soon.
I only have 6 months working record here and the reason i don't do the mortgage shop around is my sister-in-law offer us to pay off the house in full. In return, we pay her back on a monthly installment + small interest (lower than the mortgage rate but higher than she got from the bank for the interest)... so we still thinking. as you know - anything related to money will ruin the relationship between friends/relative....
Oh ic ... definitely, you have to think carefully on this matter. Mortgage rate will drop continuely and it is hard to ask to repay lower interest if the rate keeps going down.
Since this is a brand new home, the builder usually hook up with the bank for mortgage. Their mortgage can even lower than outside. Do check with A.R. sales office. Once you have the mortgage, you can then applied for VISA. I never like HSBC in Canada. Overcharge admin. fees, unfriendly service, too HK style of work. Have you tried ING? The closest will be Victoria/Steeles. They offer good service and competitive rate.
Check your filter. Most condo has separate filter @ home. You might need to replace the new one.
Dog loves winter than summer. Asking you to wear your mink (or fur depends what you called it) and walk outside right now and you will understand why my dog rush back home. There are plenty of parks outthere where you can unleash your friend and let it enjoy. There are also unleash park in Markham where dogs are legally run free.

You mean "Register" (aka "Air Mouth") plate on the floor/wall? Or the "Access Doors" inside the Air Vent was closed?
just can't relate the "register" with the air vent outlet...
the A.R using the RBC. i haven't check out the mortgage rate, but TD offer us 4.5 (4.75) can't remember... my sister-in-law saying 4% to borrow the money to us... and that's why we are hestitating... what a headache and my hair turn grey already....
I was just off the phone with my friend who supply foods to Chinese grocery stores. Apparantly there is a war going on in our chinese supermarket community. Recently, "Kim San" (Golden Mountain) had a grand opening in Miss. The new store has the new policy in place that all vendor must pay them a 'shelf admin fees' in order to allow vendors to put their items on the shelf. The price is set based on your company size and relationship with the owner. Min. is around 5K and can go as high as 20k. A lot of suppliers hestitate to do so and so the owner of the supermarket change the policy again. The new policy now said without paying the 'shelf admin fees', "Kim San" will reject all their goods from other "Kim San" stores across GTA.
In another news, other food chain owners had a secret meeting last weekend (From Wai Yan to T&T in promanede mall), and now all Chinese supermarket owners against "Kim San" and told all the suppliers that if any supplier who pay up that 'shelf admin fees' to "Kim San", they must pay them as well, otherwise, your goods will not be seen in their store.
So, next time when you goto Miss. "Kim San", you will see there are less variety to choose.
that is so crazy! I don't like Kam Shan at all... dirty... I remember that when T&T opened, Kam Shan condemed T&T will control the market of fresh fish. But actually, it did that for its own benefit. We should boyscott Kam Shan then!
the "Shelf Admin fee' is common in HK, both Park'n shop and Welcome do have such charges to the vendor, so that the vendor's products would be place on the "eye-level" for customer to pick, otherwise, they might be put to the bottom shelf, hidden corner... and let them to expire and return to the vendor... CA$5K - $20K is not much in compare to those that pay in HK...
oh now I remember when I was studying Marketing, I learnt about it... shelf fee... but I don't know it costs so much!! Just know it will make sure the product is placed in the eyelevel and easy to find places...
Any plan for the Canada Day weekend?
There are a lot of cleaning to do!! Should I hire professional cleaners to do that? Anyone knows how much it may cost?
I know there will be fireworks on Canada day in Ontario place. Apart from Ontario place, NEI knows other places will perform the fireworks too? It's going to take hours to travel north bound on DVP after the fireworks.
the park that next to the Markville mall do have the firework.. Per my god son, you will have to be there around 7pm to get a good "seating" to see the displace. There is shuttle to take you from Markville malls to the park as limited parking space in the park.
I don't have the details but that what they told me yesterdays as we will join them tomorrow.
any one be to the Hamilton's conservation park? I read from the Ming Po Magazine, there are 3 famous falls over there, anyone been there before? are they worthwhile to go?? if so, will go tomorrow...
Never mind. I got the info. (Thanks doggie, beats me on replying myself)
FYI
Apart from downtown Ontario place, both Markham and Richmond Hill will have their own fireworks.
For Markham, the location is Milne Park on McCowan/South of Hwy 7. Free shuttle bus if you park in Markville Shopping Center (southwest corner) every 15 minutes. If park inside the Milne park, it will cost $5.00. Fireworks starts @2200 hrs.
For Richmond Hill, the location is Richmond Green. It's between Leslie and Bayview on Elgin Mills. Parking is free. Fireworks starts @2200 hrs.
For Scarborough residents (ckkwyl, doggie) , goto Markham fireworks. Be sure to take the shuttle avoid traffic jam coming out from the park.
Others like PoohPoohMaMa and deprivemom, if you take RedStone, go East to the end, there is local park at the corner of RedStone/Toporiski (something like that). We can watch the fireworks from there. The Richmond Greens just 2 blocks north of the local park.
Of course, Ontario Place will be the biggest firework. For $85/guest, you can take the cruise and dinner in Lake Ontario. Look under http://www.torontodinnercruises.com/ website.
I have been to the Hamilton provincial park. It is pretty nice, but I didn't see the falls there. If you are interested in outdoor life, I suggest you getting the yearly pass for $80 something. You can enter the provincial park unlimited time.
