I am back la, we are very tried and Aiden is in trouble overcoming his jet lag again.
Due to this HK trip, I was forced to switch Aiden from breastmilk to formula. I was very upset and did cry about it, but now it's over and I have to feed Aiden with formula.
To increase my breastmilk volume, the papaya soup didn't work for me. However, having more rice and fluid did work. Also, red bean bun or red bean related food did work for me.
I did have good time in HK, but the weather is hot and too humid. We went out during non rush hour, so the stroller is good at most of the time. However, as a personal opinion, I found HK isn't a baby friendly place. Ex.not all malls/shopping centres have baby changing room.

tchu ma, don't get upset lar, both do good to your baby, (sure breastmilk has more) but as soon as the baby grow healthy is more important mar.

If Cheryl did latch but didn't suck, have you try different position? You can also try to contact the breast feeding consultant for assistant. Cus they are very helpful during Aiden's first 2 months. If you live in Richmond Hill area, the breastfeeding clinic no. is 1-877-464-9675 x 4545.

Queen, have you tried to pump it out and feed Cheryl ar? maybe she just not happy with feeding directly, (I know feeding directly have closer contact) but if Cheryl finding latching directly is harder and using more energy and could furstrated her too. Nathan was having the same problem while he first born.

I have heard feeding breast milk will get hungry easier than formula and it could be harder to skip mid-night meal too, but so far Cheryl still very young and I think having 6-7 meals a day (24hours) is normal, so dun try too hard in skipping her midnight meal now, wait till she is around 2 months old, things will get better.
I was in breast feeding consultant once and was telling me to pump at least 15-30 mins each side to clear all the breast milk out from your breast, even after your direct feeding, so as my OB said the same thing. The reason for doing that is to clear out all the milk from you in that time and to avoid any infection inside your breast by the milk stuck in there. So, don't get furstrated while pumping milk too, relax and take your time.
Good to know you have an appointment on Wed ah, the breastfeeding specialists are very helpful.
In my case, Aiden refused to eat during the first 2 days at birth (due to birth complication), he also has difficult time to latch and suck too. To make it worse, his grandma introduces bottle to him on day 3, she only rush me to pump everytime Aiden got hungry. And 3 wk later, my friend misinform me by saying milk supply won't increase at bb's 3rd month if I pump. I was extremely upset during my sit moon period. Lucky enough, I got my breastfeeding clinic appt. at wk 5, and they helped Aiden to latch on again at wk 8, which is a big supprise to me. Cus Aiden was on bottle feed for almost 2 months la.
Of course I made a wrong decision afterward. At the last appt. in the breastfeeding clinic, the specialist told me I have enough milk supply to feed Aiden, so I can choose from either latch on or pump out. Too sad I choose pump out over latch on, otherwise, Aiden will still able to drink breastmilk over formula.
