Doc said my BB is absorbing all my mineral and especially Potassium & Iron, which then caused me throw-up & 抽筋. Thus, I've lost 10lbs since my pregnancy and is still dropping bit by bit (today is exactly 4mths)!!
I thought you've decided to go for govn't hosp., if so, is it doc's decision on c-section?? I thought must take natural delivery 1st and c-section only if unsucessful.

Your are so lucky. Having a needle swimming under your skin is really a horrible exp.

I see! Right, my private doc told me that my baby will take a lot of calcium from me in the early stage of pregnancy, therefore he gave me calcium tablets since my first visit. He also said will give me iron tablets on my next visit (beg. of Aug.). So that I will have enough for my baby, but he said iron tablets might easily causes 便秘. So it is better to have it in a later stage.
No, I will give birth in St. Teresa (Kln), so I can have C-Section then. :-P

Oh, no wonder you could choose for c-section & have medication from doc. I've check-up @ govn't hosp. so there was no medication, even advice!! The only thing govn't doc told me after my check-up was "u & ur BB are fine"!! Thus, I wasn't aware of the seriousity of my last 抽筋 & throw-up, and thought every other mama will have the same exp.
Guess I should go for private clinic to check up once in a while also!!
Right! I think you should also go to visit private doc, coz you can see your baby everytime through Ultra Sound Scan. In addition, they will answer your all questions and give you advices and medication.
At this stage, we can visit them once a month until week 28. And every another week from week 28-34. Then once a week after that. But of coz, if you are going to gov' hospital, you don't have to go there that often and can save money.
By the way, which hospital you are having your check-up. I will have one at Prince of Wales next Monday morning.

During your check-up at the private clinic, is it necessary to body check every time or only the first time?? After my exp in govn't hospital, I'm really fear of having body check now. Besides, is it a must to test blood & urine (at least on 1st visit) if check-up at the private clinic?? I've dizziness every time after blood taking so try to prevent as I had the same test in govn't hospital already. Thanks!

Memi: My private doctor is used to be my 婦科醫生. So he already had my body check record before. But he is so gentle, and I never feel painful on my check-ups. So, after I am pregnant, he just use the Ultrasound scan to check my baby everytime. I also had a blood test there. But of coz, if you told your private doctor that you already had it in govn't hospital, you don't have to do it again (and save the money as well!) But urine test is a must on every visit, just the same as the govn't hospital.
My doctor charge $400-450 on every visit. I think his Ultrasound equipment is quite good, coz I can see my baby clearly. And he also explained me which part of my baby was on the screen. He also willing to answer all my stupid questions everytime. :-P

I've never visit 婦科醫生 before. Heeemmmmm, guess need another body check then!!! By the way, do you receive pic or video after every ultrasound scan? fee included in the $400-450?? extra fee for every time urine test??
I'll call up some doc to compare prices! But they must be female!! 我怕羞gaaaa!!
I agree with Coconut, female doctor is not so gentle. First time, i visited female doctor, but I think she is so cool and not give too many advise. So I changed another male doctor. He is better than that female doctor.

I am going to visit my doc this weekend and will do a blood test on 唐氏 to see if the presentage is high or not. My doc already measure the thickness of my baby neck skin and it is normal. However, I am so scare becoz' he said if the presentage is high, I must 揪胎水 immediately!:-(
I went to Prince of Wales Hospital yesterday for checkup and found out that they have a "one stop 唐氏 test", it is safe as it only measure the thickness of the baby neck skin + blood test. But I was too late to found out, coz' the test can only do for 13-14 weeks. :-( Although, you have to pay for it, I think it worth.

Yes! But I also went to another male doc before, and he is no good! I feel so painful during the checkup. Therefore, I didn't go back again even his checkup charge is cheap.
I am a 2004 年1月的準媽媽, my expect delivery date will be Jan 10. This is my first time and my husband and I are very excited.
I went through quite a hard time from the 2nd to 3nd month because of threaten abortion. I took sick leave for almost 7 weeks, staying home and lying on bed. Fortunately, my situation becomes more stable and I returned to work early this month.
Now, I would like to catch up and learn more from all of you. Hope you don't mind to share your experience with me.
It is nice to know that you have made up your mind. Surely, it is a correct decision!
I also suffered badly on my early stage of pregnancy, and requested to work at home for 3 weeks. You are so lucky to ask for sick leave for 7 weeks. I've just be able to gain back my normal weight until this week.

I lost totally 8 pounds and just gained back my normal weight this week, such a coincidence. My doctor told me to gain 1 pound per week from now on. Otherwise, I will be in trouble later.
