I'll go to singapore with my baby daughter and my husband in the coming Christmas holiday for a 4 days trip. Can you give me some advice on how to plan my trip? Thanks a lot.
We came back ( a group of nine with kid and elderly) last nite and have a great trip in Singapore.
Some tips for other mommies :
- If you are in a group of 4 and with a kid ( 5 persons), not every taxi take the risk to take you ( as according to law, the normal taxi restricted to 4 persons only ). We have been rejected three times;
- different favour yakult can be bought in normal store "士多" and 7-11;
- Botonic garden, National Plant Park, with the National Orchid Park inside, worth to go ( if you don't like shopping);
- The fee for Orchid Park increased from S$2 to $5 for adult. Kid below 12 free, elderly S$1;
- Taxi is cheap and convenient;
- Difficult to get a table at Crystal Jade restaurant in "Yee An City"; many people;
- From Orchard Road to take taxi to Night Safari is S$11-12
- From China Town to take taxi to Botanic garden is around S$6-7.
- Should also view the show in the zoo before/ after the tram ride ( show time 8:00pm/9:00pm/10:00pm)
- Hotel got some tours to scenic spots ( including transport) but a bit expensive.
- I found the Popular bookstore in the Orchard Road MRT station ( HK 10% discount card of Popular Bookstore also applicable here)
- bought the "金福源" dried Pork slcies (肉干) instead of Lam Chi Yuen. As the local Chinese pharmacy shopkeeper in Chinatown recommended a try of that shop. Their 肉干 is not made of minced meat. Not bad.
Overall, Singaporean is very nice, the city is very clean, full of green plants, the taxi drivers are courteous; as people speak Potunghua and English, easy to communicate (can listen to Cantonese).

2)I plan to visit 牛車水, boat quay, jurong birdpark, orchard road, suntec city, clark quay, 老巴剎, night safari, merlion park, botanic garden, sentosa, day zoo, book shop, etc.
3)This is the first time I travel with my baby daughter who will be 20 months old. Actually I've been to singapore twice (join a tour). This time we go by ourselves. The highlight of this tour is for my daughter. We want to visit all the zoos, gardens and places that suit for my baby.

1. 酒店check in - suntec city - 老巴殺lunch - merlion park - clark quay dinner

3. 牛車水 - sentosa
4. bird park - 酒店check out - HK

Because that is exactly what I do with them - long pants, t-shirt and sweat-shirt/coat when boarding. Then each layer gets removed as the plane gets closer to SIN.

I will stay in Siwssotel the Stamford, do you know around there is any shopping arcade? Can you suggest any place to provide the traditonal style breakfast?
Rendezvous Hotel was upgraded several years ago. It is not a bad hotel but I find that its location is a little off - you have to walk about 10 mins to the nearest MRT station and 5-7 mins to the bus stops.
If the prices are not too different and there is a choice, the Prince Hotel at Orchard Road would probably be a better consideration. Or, Carlton Hotel - nearer to walk to the stations than Rendezvous.
BTW, try to avoid the 8th Floor of the Rendezvous Hotel - there are stories about the rooms on that floor.
