Do you share the same view? Would there be any other possible diagnosis?
Ans.: to exam the nose, we shall have some clue of allergic rhinitis. Secondly, check X-rays sinuses required in his case.
For sinusitis, he prescribed augmentin. I understand that it's an antibiotics. Does it have any adverse effect if my son isn't really suffering from sinusitis?
Ans.: I will do the similar thing but after confirmation with X-rays.
He also said that my son would need to try nose sprays if he had allergy. But the nose sprays contain steroids. Based on the paed's prescription, I felt that it is not something preferable (as compared to antibiotics).
Ans.: Yes, he may need that spray. some preparation is OK for his age.
A similar question as above: does it have any adverse effect if my son isn't really suffering from allergy?
Ans.: No problem for a few months treatment.
Actually, my son has runny nose every now and then (runny nose for 3-4 weeks and then fully recovered for 3-4 weeks and runny nose again...) Are there any preventive measures I can do?
Ans.: Apart from medication and spray, do thick about the environmental factors: Dusty house? Dog/cat? carpet in house, dolls in bed? House-dust-mite allergy?
Food allergy??
