it was really great last night, we had big reward - four big bags of treats. most of the neighbourhood had decorated the house, it was already a great pleasure in walking around the neighbourhood last night - warm weather, not windy.
the most interesting one was one of them lay himself on ground, cover with a blanket in the front yard, the treat was next to him, when people went to get the treat, he jumped up to scare people. he had a horrible mask on his head. my younger daughter was scared by him, of course, me too.
My girl had a wonderful time last Friday. Maybe she is too little (or maybe I was right next to her), noone seems to approach us with scary look. All neighbors just hands out candles.
I start wonder how many kids outthere knows 'whats trick or treat means'. So this year, instead of giving them treats right away, I replied 'I WANT TRICK'. Well, their faces are either or
Another group came by but without any costume. So I ask 'What are you dess up as?', one kid got smart and said 'My mom said teenage is the most horrible creature in mankind'. For that answer, I gave that kid double candies.
doggie: You kidding, right. Britney Spears??!!
Ladies: Do you feel like we are living in Vancouver today? Rain...
just too busy to wrap up my work and start my vacation
how's everyone?
Oscar yes, Britney Spears - am I spell correct? My goddaughter likes her very much... everything bears her face - pencil case, book marks....
we did have fun on last Friday... we went to the Unionville - main street... some of the house really decorate - they even have the sound track that scare kids off...
but may be because of the Cecilia Zhang's case, I same many parents (just like me) standing on the side walk -watching their kids to the door and out from there.. just to be safe...

i will escort them even without this case. i think all parents should do the same for safety.
we didn't go, but intend to watch tv. however, i don't know the time - then wait until 3:00, we took a nap. tv started at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. :-( :-(
curious to know are u or your family working in the food and beverage industry in canada, or any other job? as i know, most of chinese are working in this industry in overseas
Ha ha, I think that is a wrong impression. I think Chinese have more opportunity in this country. Many young adults have their career in all different industries, i.e. IT, finance, etc.
I just came back from HK - did not shop much as the things are not that cheap as most people said. We end up only buying the digital camera back here. that's it.
I am not sure whether you guys still remember me. I posted few messages before and asked for advice about what to bring as a new migrant. Finally I got settle in Vancouver now and recently I got a job....but not in food and beverage industry.
Anyway, my daughter is just 1 yr old and now I am looking for child care. Child care centre is fulled and we look for other options. To hire a maid....it seems too costly here. Look from newspaper for daily care....we are doing that, but not sure how reliable and don't know how much it costs. As my hubby is english native speaker, we are unlikely to hire a chinese maid as it is hard for my hubby to communicate with them. I know there are many working moms and dads here, can anyone give me advice. What I should consider before selecting child care?
