Yes, it is very common to have mixed marriage in Canada.

For being 排斥, I dont think it is related to your background. It is more related how you look, what you behave and how you react. Bully is everywhere and it is even among Chinese community.

我生完返黎啦! 前後住左 1.5禮拜醫院, 老公得番1.5禮拜去和個bb相處, 佢都差 d 有產前產後抑鬱~:;pppp:

當自己有個 mix bb, 我覺得冇乜野咁特別, 但有 d 人就好似緊張過我地, 又話 mix 一定係靚, 有 d 人黎醫院似係為左睇bb 係咩樣多過關心我地囉, 成日話要影相交差俾人睇... 響外國, d 人冇香港人咁大反應同埋媚外, 感覺自然多.

好耐以前睇過雜誌, 話 d mix 既人響香港會被當作外國人, 響外國會俾人當係中國人, 總之冇自己既 identity, 我希望bb 唔會遇到呢 d 問題啦.

Congratulation! Is it a boy or girl? What happen to the baby as it seems too long for 1.5week in hospital?
Yes, people in HK are very sensitive about mix baby as some of the strangers said to us before I even pregnant (as my husband is Indian and he has very clear feature).
Regarding the look, I dont think there is any discrimination to my child as long as she speaks the same languages as others. In Canada there are too many mix cultures and I havent seens anything bad happen to my child because of her look/background.

thanks. 我個 bb 係仔, 重 7磅半. 出世時有肺炎, 所以要留一星期院打抗生素, 咁我咪住埋一齊等埋佢, 之後到我個會陰傷口發炎要拆線, 我要留院, 到 bb 等我出院.

bb 而家不停扭計, 餵過又換左片沖埋涼, 真係唔知佢想點.

個bb 會入荷蘭藉, 星期四可以去高院拎番 d 文件, 但果日我要番醫院睇傷口, 希望呢個禮拜趕得切攪掂晒 d 野, 我老公響禮拜五走左之後就唔知幾時至幫到 bb 入藉.

It is normal to have no clue about why the baby cry since you are the first time mom. Just give him love and care and he will be fine.

明仔老竇,
As you are Chinese, so they will always look at your child as Chinese. But how about when your child is with your wife, they will not look at her/him as Chinese, right?

One thing I would like to share about being mix family, we have to change adapt our food, ie, no Chinese all time. I have to cook western food once in a while as my husband will complain too Chinese( which mean too much steam or stir fry). Anyone would like to share what they cook for their other half and how about your children? For my daughter, she is very Chinese and she like Chinese food all time.

xother, 多謝你鼓勵! 而家只係識分 bb 食奶喊同埋發惡既喊聲. 有時佢要 ur 氣或者想便便時, 佢就會谷到塊面好紅又發惡咁大聲喊, 有時唔知咩事佢又發惡咁, 總之佢一發惡就唔知佢想點. 我最怕係佢有事我唔知.

homers, welcome back. 你今次返黎幾耐?? 我可能到 9 月至去荷蘭, 等 bb 打多 d 針先同埋我想返多一排工. 我響醫院時遇到個海外媽媽, 佢等 bb滿月時會帶bb 同老公團聚, 佢話bb 同爸爸既 bonding 好緊要. 我d 同事都係咁講... 我唔知要 bb 6 個月至同佢老豆團聚係咪會有好大影響.

而家我阿媽會幫手湊 bb, 我覺得好矛盾, 到我地要走時, 我阿媽要同 bb 分開好似好衰咁, 真係手背又係肉, 掌又係肉.

我試過響度 post 相, 但唔知做咩有時呢度 show 唔到出黎~

Dont worry about the crying as this is the only way of communication. We all get used to that!
Regarding your case, do you have any help in Holland? For long term, baby needs his father and just a matter of time to be separate with grandma. Besides, do you want your husband to withness how he grows as well?

I live in Hong Kong and my husband and I have a full time job here as well, we don't live in Holland. This is a family visit only.
Yes, the bondling with father is very important, but with you as well. To build up a bonding relationship, I don't think a few month will damage the relationship. I can't remember any thing when I am 1 year old.

Can your husband stay in Hong Kong, then it solve the problem. But if you don't have any choice, then you must move to Holland. Woman is great always.

My husband loves Hong Kong, We still don't have any planmove to Holland.

I hope you will like Holland, Where you stay in Holland?

多謝你地 d 意見, 而家專心湊 b, 我應該遲下會去荷蘭, 因為比較過我地份工, 佢份工有前途d, 我都唔想勉強我老公黎香港做野乜都要由頭開始兼放棄佢果 d 社會福利/保障. 我地會住 den bosch 附近呀.

你地 d bb 既出世紙有冇落中文名? 我個 bb 既中文全名落左去 "名字" 果欄, 但老公冇中文名, 即係而家bb 係冇中文姓氏... 如果我申請特區護照, 中文名應該點寫??

If you are planning to stay Holland for long, why you need SAR passport? Your child should be able to get his Holland passport through the father, right? It will be much useful to have Holland passport in case you need to travel to Europe. For SAR passport, since he born in HK, he is eligible to have it any time. Chinese name....you can add it any time before he turn 18yr and if he is not living in HK, it is no meaning. I didnt put any Chinese name to my daughter as I dont want to make the name complicated. She can decide what name if she wants it and currently I just translate her English name into Chinese and follow my last name. She seems very happy to have it and she wont feel strange as it is exactly sound like her English name.

FYI, my daughter has SAR passport but for the Chinese name, it is just blank as she has no Chinese name.

我都諗過特區護照幾時拎都得. 我地早幾日幫 bb 拎荷蘭護照, 影相搞左 2 日都影唔到, 我仲要為 d 相響中環跑街... 好彩領事館 d 人見我地帶左 bb上去2日咁辛苦, 老公會返去荷蘭, 俾我下次唔駛帶 bb 上去. 咁我諗緊橫掂整左證件相, 不如拎埋特區護照, 回郷咭果 d 證件, 咁之後幾年唔駛再煩丫麻.
