any mons/dads are good at computer/telephone dail up?
I newly moved to markham area and use future way as the residential phone line company. Whenever I dail up the modem to the internet, not to mention it take longer time for the connection as I need to tune down the speed in order to get connection, my line will quickly kick out within a second of two after the connection.
have checked out the services provider and the phone company, both of them saying their lines are o.k.
anyone could give me a clue where I got wrong? I have no problem in dailing up when I was in Scarborough...
Call Futureway. It's their problem. Tell them you are using laptop and it works other places (friends home in Richmond Hill / Scarborough etc.) except your home.
If I remember correctly, AR and Cachet on Woodbine Ave use FutureWay technology for all resident homes.
i have taken a week off last week as my youngest sister is coming from hk. we went to mississauga on that terrible tuesday, it took us nearly 3 hours to drive back to toronto.
Is the dial up problem consistent? Futureway's service isn't that stable; I have experienced phone line down for a day. You could keep trying and see if that is just temporarily.
thanks. my new house is great.. but lots of things need to be done (in compare with the apartment I lived before)
yes, we have consistent dial up problem, and yes, Future way keep saying no problem with their phone line. We wish to shift a better services provider, but the problem we have is we already paid the full year fee to the current one...
we try to see how it goes, and worse case we just sacrify the fee and shift the phone line to bell or others phone company that offer high speed internet.
Primas got a feature in long distance - it's called TALKBROADBAND. What it does it's they provide you with a new 416 area code and small device. The device plug into your high speed internet access. For $20/month you can use it unlimited local calling. The BEST selling point is able to work anywhere with High Speed internet access. For example, I called to my parents all the time and they have high speed internet access too. So I ship them the unit and from there on, they can use that 416 number to call us (or I called them) without paying any long distance.
There are drawbacks thu. Internet goes down, power failure. The worst is those :-x damn marketing calls. Don't forget, they are 12/13 hours ahead of us. That means they will also receive unwanted call middle of night (for us, it's during the day)... Check out the website @ http://www.primus.ca
not quite understand how it works... but anyhow... we currently solve our dail up issue with the FCI... so will leave it for a moment.
it has been so quiet for the last 2 weeks. how's all the moms and dads for their valentine days... time flies... almost end of Feb.. 1/6th of the 2004 gone pass soon.

full year maternity leave wow - so long - I bet by then you did not wish to go back to work lor
O.. I also want to know about Montessori, does anyone know? I live in Vancouver. Do you think everything are same no matter where (East/West coasts)? When do i need to register her? Why so many people want to go Montessori? Do they need any exam for entering their school? I heard that not every baby suitable to go there?
poohpoohmama,
thank you for reply! i am looking for good montessori school, i did reseach in web and found out some good ones,eg toronto montessori school, century montessori school, town center montessori school, because i live in woodbridge, so i like to find one near my home, by the way, this kind of school the expense are so hight ( around $8000 to $12000), how about you, is your kid go to school yet?
I think the closest one near you (I know) is the one on Bayview and Hwy 7.
The best way is to go to the open house. Talk to the parents in your neighbourhood to see if they have any recommandation.
My kid will be born in August.
I think if you found a school you want to enroll your child, you can call them up to see when you need to register. Most of them doesn't have waiting list not like HK...
