我記得 Marimba 大約係 2萬幾，而 snare drum 好似 2-3 千，唔係好記得，snare drum 我地係 Tom Lee 買，Marimba 就要搵專人訂。

多謝哂！終於完哂校際啦！可以唔駛再聽果 d 歌啦！今日阿囡得第二，阿囝得第三，總算有個交代啦！不過下年我會叫佢地唔好玩咁多場啦！真係好辛苦呀(係我)！

Hi Ramomo,

Congratulation to your daughter.

A practising xylophone only has the wooden bars but no metal tubes underneath, and so does not sound as musical. The size is slightly smaller than a real size xylophone, and it is foldable. Not on sale in Tom Lee and Parsons. I purchased it from a store supplying instruments to DGS. Your teacher may know some supplier too.

The ABRSM " Graded Music for Snare Drum", "Graded Music for Tuned Percussion" are on sale in Tom Lee.

Hi JP,

Even though we now have a marimba at home, my daughter only practises once per week on the night before lesson. I guess practising in the school band counts too. That seems sufficient except in time of examination or solo competition. I wonder if there is instrument for hire ?

Hi Rachethew,

Thanks and congratulations to Rachel and Matthew. There are many more candidates in the secondary competition and it must be very difficult to get a prize.

Elise is lucky this year, in particular having Ben as her accompanist. That's a sure advantage in today's competition when the piano part is substantive. Some accompanists are really disappointing today, especially when they were paid to play for two or three candidates in a competition. It was very unfair to the candidate hiring them.
I noted a lot of short comings in Elise's practice and performance, and just hope that she will work hard to improve herself.

It's good that the competitions are over. We decide to relax until next school year.

Wow... Haven't got time to visit this site for so long. So glad to hear the good newsssssssssss from everyone. Congratulations to gogochurch, JP, Rachethew, MsChanChan, Deniset, Zoey & Sindy etc.

The kids have grown up a lot since we last met.

My daughter is really busy this year, she is P6 and has to prepare 3 tests & 3 exams in 6 months time... so we are both very tired !

今年音樂節，阿囝順利完成，雖然無名次，我覺得他是進步了。學校剛考完試，連分班試都考埋，直升書院表格又簽回，令我覺得前所未有咁輕鬆！所以假期會同阿囝及我家姐三個去東京探姨甥女及睇櫻花。昨日決定兼找到平機票，今天出飛原來機場稅每人仲平了$50，星期日出發，下星期六返，我真係心情好愉快，雖然下星期才放假，也預祝大家復活節快樂

Long time no chat! Bet Sandy must have been very busy getting ready for Secondary One. Apart from school work, she must be busy in practising her violin/viola. She must have had great achievements since last year.
My daughter is very busy as she will also be in Secondary One in the coming Sept. Tests and exams at school has become part of her life now. BTW, my husband met SCheng a couple of weeks ago. Maybe we should have a gathering with the kids (yum cha cha) or a fun day some time in the summer.

好羡慕您啊！我仲天天為阿囡在勞氣呢！如無意外，阿囡都應該可以直升中學。直資學校就是有這樣好，不用煩，周圍撲學校。不過我就沒有您這樣輕鬆啦！啊女大考在5月，這個復活節都是用來溫習多，出街少ge 喇！時間過得太快啦，我們的“細路”都進入青春階段（尤其我隻女很反叛

如果5月考試，是不是6月便放暑假？時間過得好快，阿囝暫時仲肯聽下我講，不過暴風少年期一到，都唔知有甚麼辦法應付！

囡囡學校是不是行IB?阿囝琴老師有個學生讀蔡繼有，現在中二，出年中三、四會考IGCSE，要讀成10科；中五、六讀IB課程，和你們相同嗎？還是像SPC，部份同學考IGCSE，部份同學讀新高中課程？最近收到學校派回來新高中課程資料，真是覺得好難揀科，囡囡學校有甚麼意見參考？

CSK，
囡囡學校行IBD，初中階段還是跟小學相似，課程是IB-Oriented，學生要到第11年才參加IBD Exam. 學校會在6月份舉辦現屆（Year5）家長會，到時便會知道學科的選擇。我人好懶，其實可以先問學兄學姐的家長，不過我都是等到家長會才算。我現在已經9成放手，因爲阿女不准我教，她要自己讀。有好有唔好，總之遲早都要放手，既然她先提出，就姑且讓她自己來溫習。So far 都ok 啦！老師話越早放手就越好，如果她肯發問就不用擔心。
學校要到7月初才放暑假，因爲大考後還有一個學段，仲會有很多assessments 和group project,邊有噉嘆！學校一年派3次成績表，1、2學段一次，3、4學段一次，全年縂成績在7月份派發。
祝您有一個愉快難忘的日本之旅！
