if i were u, i wouldn't waste the money to buy the carrier coz yr girl is almost 1 already. most kids won't let u tie him/her up by the carrier when they're over 1.
u can consider buying the kind that people use when hiking (the kid feels like s/he were sitting on top of yr shoulder).

Hi everyone,

I haven't been on BK for a while and I am back now. :) I may not be able to catch up with all the new messages for the last couple months but seems that there are a lot of fun gatherings happening in New York!! I am jealous! :D

Anyway, I have a 9-month-old boy and currently living in the Bay Area in California. I am staying at home right now to take care of the baby but I am trying to look for a job in the meantime. I just afraid if I stay home for too long, it may be even harder for me to get back to the workforce... but if I find a job, that means I need to find a daycare or nanny... also troublesome situation.

Well, just wanna say hi to all again! :)

因我地冇渣車呀..叻叻又未識行啵, 有時真係得我一個人出去, 唔想帶bb車咯..咁用緊既揹帶都差唔多唔夠叻叻用啦..咪諗住買絛岩大個既bb用咯..我諗都會岩叻叻架..佢真係有時好似nelly咁話...似隻kaola架...如用兩手抱.真係行唔到一絛街呢.

yesterday is my bb 2 months body check day, and she get 4 vaccineshots, she have little high temperature now, i had give her some drug.
now she don't drink too much milk,
she alway drink about 4 oz,
but today she only drink 1 oz, and alway cry....
what can i do?

which part of bay area are u in?

i completely understand yr situation. i've been a stay-home mom for almost 4 yrs now. becoz i was in software engineering and technologies change so quick, i lost my confidence a bit when i was thinking abt going back to work recently.
i think it really depends on what kind of job u do, it'll be fine if u're an accountant or most kind of admin job if you've stopped working for several years.

nat-nat should be walking pretty soon (as most kids started to walk between 11 to 15 months old). once she started to walk, she might not want u to hold her in the carrier. only u'll know if it'll likley to happen ...

你BB 個pedi 肯唔肯每個月只幫囡囡打2枝疫苗, 灘開晒嚟打, 咁BB對針嘅 reaction會細好多..

我就會每個月返clinic做1次well baby visit, instead of 1month, 2month, 4 month, 6 month, 9 month and 12 month.. 咁可以每個月 weight 1次, 度度高同頭圍, 每次只打2枝針, 又可以bring up 自已嘅concern.. 見 pedi前就俾1 dose infant tylenol Gabriel 食, 等佢打針時冇咁痛, 同減少 reaction時發燒嘅機會囉

係啦...我老公打過去問啦..要12月先有得apply架, 而家冇啦..不過都照問左d info咯, 係唔洗錢.不過uniform加書呢..都要2000usd架, 9個月fulltime. 但唔記得左問12月apply左之後幾時先有得讀呢..但我又諗住12月番hk.....唉...
個mug留番比細佬啦...叻叻其實真係好鍾意個cup架. 我唔理佢啦, 咪等佢係家飲咯. 真係買得太多cup比佢..哈哈.

I live in Mountain View and used to work in Santa Clara. Where in CA are you at now? I have been staying home since last May (My son born in June 06). Stay home almost a year lah... Well, I am in IT field too. I worked in Tech Support for a BI company. I guess if I stay home for another year or so, it would be very hard for me to get back the industry. I need to keep my skill updated. Actually, I am trying to review my SQL now. I forgot a lot of stuffs since I don't use it nowadays. I guess I may try to concentrate in reviewing my SQL and DB stuffs and try to look for a job in this related area though I am open in other area as well. But most of the companies would ask what I had been doing and I worked in BI and SQL/DB/Datawarehouse for over 5 yr. So, I guess I may have an advantages to find a job that may need those skills. So you was in software engineering... are you planning to work in the industry again? How old is you kid? I don't even plan to find a job in any software programming, all my programming lanaguage are rusted! I can read code but can't write now... (except javascript & SQL & HTML).... I feel like my memory is getting worse after baby was born...

Hi everyone,

I have a dumb question. How do you make 粥仔 for babies? I tried to cook congee in my ricecooker (porridge setting) and then took out those congee and put in a pot and add more water and cook it even softer. However, when I tried to feed my 9.5 months old son, he doesn't seems to like it. I add some baby jar food (carrot etc) in the congee and then he would at most ate 2 Tablespoons of the mixture (carrot and congee), and then he would have that "gonna throw up" face and wanted to cry. I am not sure if the congee I make has any problem or just that he doesn't like congee.

If I feed him those boxed rice/barley/oatmeal (those boxed one add water or formula), he takes those fine. He also like the baby jar food as well. He can finished one jar of stage 2 baby food plus 5-8Tbsp of cereal each time (or he can finish a stage 3 jar in dinner time) . I usually feed him 2-3 times solid food daily. He drink 4-5 times formula a day. Each time drink 4-6 oz formula.

Actually, feeding the cereal to the baby is much easier (I am so lazy) because I only need to add liquid in the cereal mixture. But my mom said those are too "hot gas" and I should feed my son more 粥仔 instead. I am thinking maybe the way I cook the 粥仔 is not right. I may try to cook the 粥仔 in the pot for the whole time (instead of using the rice cooker) next time... but since the baby only eat a little, it seems so troublesome to make the 粥仔... Anyway, any good advice for making those 粥仔?
