I hope that you would understand I don't feel annoying at all. If because of the way I wrote here, gave you an expression that I am upset and unhappy to answer any question, I felt very sorry and apologise here.
People come here, to ask question. and we are here, base on your question and tried to give you the best option and answers. Many of the time, we give you more than 1 choice because we know, we got thru the stage you are going.
We afraid of that you will fall into the same black hole as we did.
As a recruiter, my words may be ... like a statement. because there is no other option! As a support here, I don't want your husband to waste his time.
For the progress of the verification and application, it usually takes about 6-9 months. So, remember for the mailing address, it must be in US as you will land in US at April.

Tell you one thing.. my childhood wasn't any better than yours. So, be tough! stay strong!

Thanks for sharing.. as I am going thru a very tough period at the moment. That really makes me feel better as the word in this song read my mind.. and I wish.. I will get thru the dark tunnel sooner. I am looking forward to it.
Tell you another thing.. friends whom supporting me in this period, more than 90% are BK moms, and more than 85% of them are moms in New York/New Jersey.
Remember to share your sadness and happiness with friends here you made. Let us know when you need help, we may not able to be physically assist you, but we are your cheer leaders.
I have no body here and I really rely on our NY/NJ BK moms group. Although, it is all spiritual support, it is priceless!

I sort of understand your situation. My in-laws live in the same city but 99 will never want to take care of my children, particularly my son. She always say that he's naughty (because he touches her stuff and she never child-proof her home) and she even tells all the people that my son is bad. Her daughter's sons are genius and angels. Everything about her blood grandchildren is good but not my son. Luckily, my 62 is more caring and he had forced my 99 to come to help us after I gave born to Amanda. She intended not to come helping out but 62 made her to do it since my mom already needed to take care of Spencer.

Amanda is a bit different, she's an angel to everyone but not me. She only gives me and my mom hard time, fussy and stubborn like a rock. On the other hand, she always come to hug me tight and says "I love you mommy". Every male creature in my family and my hubby's family prefer her. Well, I think that it's the difference of boy and girl although to me, my son is just adorable like my daughter.

Both my kids won't get too close to my husband's side (all his bro and sis). Amanda is better to deal with those people.
Gabriel.. he is a smart kids. He will not even get on the ground if my husband's relatives around. I have to carry him the whole period. He will not let any of them to touch him. I almost chok to die every time when Gabriel saw them.. as Gabriel looks like a koala.
He is fine with 62, 99. he will give 99 good massage. he will sit on 62 's lap and read newspaper with 62, takes nap with 99 at the sofa when there is no other around.
That is good. The fortune teller said.. one of the animal year people shouldn't get close to Gabriel, or Gabriel will have injury (many of my husband's relatives born in that year--scary). Well.. I won't really believe in it, but I will make myself aware! At least, Gabriel won't walk any closer to those people. That is good.
They don't help, so why my kids need to get close to them? What does relative, (aunts and uncles) mean?? Even my 62,99 doesn't help, at least they don't hurt my kids or teach my kids wrong concept.
When Amanda's 大姑媽 saw her at the new year eve dinner , she hit the table and shout at Amanda "who gave birth to you, that you don't even call me as your 大姑媽." that is the manner as a human being?? Amanda was just 17 months old that time, how she can call people's name and someone only shows up the second times in her life.? Guess what happened after that? Amanda picked that bad behaviour.. she hit the table, used the baby word shouting back immediately.
You can see how fast a baby can learn.
Then, I hold my child, and told 99 and 62, to keep those people to stay away from my children. I don't mind to have relatives that never go to school get education, but I do discriminate with those with no manner! As I don't think that it is funny at all.
99, 62 know very well. Unless, unfortunately we met in the Chinese Restaruant ( not on the same table), I will force my kids to say hi, otherwise, I will not show up with my children even at Chinese new Year 2nd day-- the day for all daughter in laws to return to 99 house.
Therefore, I always wish that if ... I can live in another states.. that there are no relatives around.. if they are not going to help.

My relative is waiting for family reunion which likely need to wait for three more years. However, she needs to file bankrupcy in Hong Kong in which she will be in bankrupcy status herself for four years. Is there any problem when the priority date is due three years laters, if her guarantee person had adequate assets for suppoting her emigration procedure.
She is the direct beneficiary of the reunion application. Or, where can she check for this question. Thanks in advanced.

It is about 10 mins away from my house by Driving.
New renovation area, so the co-op over there is brand new (mostly). Close to Hosptial as well --Staten Island University Hospital.
about 15 mins driving to Stop and shop and Pathmark. (something like Park'n Shop or "wai Hong") but it is a huge one.
About 10 mins away from 24 hours pharmacy CVS and walgreen. Also have Duane Reade.
No Chinese supermarket around (I have to let you know). We usually shop at Brooklyn or go to Rt 440 to South Ave (mei Tung --forgot their name in English) I will guide you thru if you live in Staten Island.
Will you buy car or just take public transport.. it is about 10-15 mins walking to the Express Bus stop at Hylan Blvd.
What else you would like me to high light them to you??
We have 4-5 very close BK families living in Staten Island.. Also, piano school which Amanda is attending, we have a small Chinese group there as well. Many of them go to Church, except us.
They have Chinese School here as well in Staten island.

Thanks for your info. I have questions about traveling to and from Staten Island:

1) How much are the tolls to cross the bridges?

2) What is the fare of the express bus to Manhattan? Is it convenient to take the bus? How long to wait for a bus during rush hour?

they increase price time to time, now for 1 -2 passengers is $5.6. 3 ppl and up (car pool) is $2.56 with tickets.

express bus is below $6, can't remember as the last time I took it, it was at last March. (that time was $5) it is very convenience. use X1 for example, it comes every 5-7 mins. (rsuh hour) after rush hour will be every hour.

3) Is taking an express bus better than taking a ferry?
ferry:
from your house to the train station, takes 25 mins walking, or 10mins driving and park. Trains come every 15-20 mins, another 35-40 mins ride to Pier, another 30 mins on the ferry.... To take the ferry... I would do it on weekend only if I live at seaview ave.. not convenience. also, you need to change to subway or bus to get to your destination.
Express bus:
10-15 mins walking from you home. it takes about 30-45 mins to Manhattan at 7am, about an hour before 8am.

Well.. I drive everyday, as I couldn't rely on the public transport. I am doing city new york tour almost everyday. Son studies in Staten island @ day care, Daughter studies in Manhattan @ PS. I work at different location everyday. So.. I get used to drive on my own.
If you drive.. live in Staten Island actually is better than live in Brooklyn. We use BQE to Queens and Manhattan. somehow, the distant is shorter and save time. Staten island helps us to maintain the quality of life like in New jersey and Melbourne (Australia) where I came from but pay less land tax (1/3 compare with New Jersey).
And we shop at New Jersey all the time.. that is another advantage.
Once you come, then we will teach you to apply the car pool thru your EZpass while others are paying $8 for all bridges between NJ/NY, we only pay $2.. but you need to have 3 ppl or up.

thank you very much indeed. but i am sorry for bothering you again as we also found another apartment in Hamilton ave in the following link which is cheaper and smaller (my husband thinks that the previous one is too big and a bit more expensive) and pls tell us if the location or neighbourhood is fine there, thanks a lot again.

I checked the map.. that is the reason, it is cheaper. As it is on the right hand side of the SIE (staten island expressway)...
I would suggest that you may need to search somewhere again..
It is for safety reason. As I won't feel comfortable to come and visit you by myself or with my kids.
I am so sorry to say that. But that is my first expression with the location. That is for 黑人/墨西哥人 to live in...
I gonna ask my husband about the security and safety over there.

You may go to http://www.cgfns.org or dept of education NYC to check.. as I don't know if they accept the license outside. They need to check the course you took and verify from there.

They have the art and music school here (after school activities) that you can send your daughter to. For Piano, we have BK mom lives in Brooklyn teachs piano at home. They usually send their children to the art and music school to save the money if they join many of them.
At brooklyn, once you arrive, there is a Brooklyn Parents magazine for free, you can get them from many shopping malls, or stores sell children stuff (eg Toyrus).
想請問, 如果我們到了 Brooklyn, 不知道在哪裡有得學? 學校可有得學? 另外, 在哪些店舖可買到數碼鋼琴? 比香港平宜嗎?
數碼鋼琴-- what is it in English?? does it equal to Keybroad..? or something hi-tech?? I need more information.

I don't know about the regular school here, as my daughter in Nest+M, so her school offers piano, cello, art, chess, hockey, gym, dance, drum, guitar.. that is the city wide gifted school. So, those programs are free.. and included in school time. those are elective classes.

it really depends.. even they said that they received it.. have to see if your husband needs to submit more evdience.. it will be delay at least another 3-6 months.
If he did it right, it usually takes about 6-9 months. As paper works go back and forward between HK and US. Also, if the immigration officer whom handles your case on vacation, that happens to many of the cases.. then, it will be a delay too. because cases won't transfer to other officers because of vacation time.
You will receive letters in this few months.
remember they want to know if your marriage is a truth
1. evdience of your wedding
2. evdience of your communication
3. evdience of your finanical support
4. how you met each other?
those are very common thing they asked for.
