Mavis, Rachel, Jayne, Baby gigi,
打去 johnson and johnson ...
最啱 mother to be 擁有架
I guess gum mah farn, maybe I just stay on with the cereal suen lah... fai si 睇火. :) Now I think back, I guess maybe my son was choked on the congee before since he cough and cry afterwards. My mom said I can boil some carrot water to feed my son wor (less hot gas)... She also asked me to use some "rice water" to make the formula. I haven't try any though. too lazy... Few days ago, I just ordered a mini food processor online, I will see if I gonna make some baby food using the food processer later. :)
How much cereal can 叻叻 finish each meal ah? I wish my baby eat less meal and each time eat more... then it can save me more time and less bottles and bowl to wash! haha...
Nillie_Mami,
oh Amanada 食,粥仔反胃 tim ah... ho chi my baby gum... pizza, fires, and ice-cream tim! hehe.. I let my son to lick on the ice-cream before (just tiny little bit). He seems to love it. But that was just a taste only. I let him try the yobaby yogurt and he seems to like it too. I wish my son drink 凍奶. Nowadays, he only drink warm formula. If the formula is cold/cool/or even just room temperature, he doesn't want to drink and split it out. Or just "hum juu" the bottle (nipple) in his mouth and doesn't swallow it. So, it's more mah farn when we go out coz I need to prepare warm water all the time (or need to find a restaurant/coffee shop for warm water). Nowadays, those glass ready-to-drink bottle 都 "yim" cold.
By the way, do you gals have MSN? I get on MSN more often than BK. Depends on which PC I am on...
my son is 3 yrs older than yours.
we're in north san jose and my office used to be in cupertino. however, i seldom stayed in the office except when i was pregnant. my job required up to 100% traveling. when i was not on a project, i just worked from home and sometimes went to the office.
when i said i was in SW engineering, i was not a "regular" SW engineer as u thought. actually i worked for the consulting services group at our company. so i did anything from requirement gathering/analysis, to development and QA. my role really depended on different projects. so i'm really not an expert of anything, but i just know a little bit of this and that. a lot of times i didn't even know anything abt the job i needed to do for the project, so i just needed to find out ways to learn it in the shortest time. after the project was done for a while, i could hv forgotten what i've done.
i used to be very confident at work, but now i completely lost my confidence after stopped working for almost 4 yrs.
I see... you were in consulting. :) Actually my friend asked me if I want to work in consulting in her company but my husband rejected the idea. Now with the baby at home, travelling too much may not be too good. For consulting, it may be a bit even harder to get back after a few years not working in the field (of coz if you still working on project etc during the years, that's another story). If you really want to get back and work, maybe you just need to review the latest stuffs a bit before you apply? Anyway, is your son in pre-school already? Do you plan to get back to work?
Hi Bunnymonkey,
Nice to meet you here! I'm Meeemeee. 2 kids (daughter is 7 and son is 3). We live in San Ramon. I'm a working mom.
About your name "Bunnymonkey"...my daughter was born in the year of Rabbit (Bunny) and my son was born in the year of Monkey!
你下個禮拜生 lah, are you ready already? :D I heard that the second one would be faster and easier during delivery (in general). So, good luck la!
wah, your 99's method is not that simple for me. I don't have 墩盅 at home. I never 墩 anything before hehe.. I am not sure if a slow cooker work? Let me yin gau har your 99's method sin. Thanks! :) I ordered a food processor couple days ago and I will try to make something (baby food) after the processor arrive. :)
In the beginning, I only feed my son room-temperature formula. But since I use the concentrate ready-to-drink can later, I prepared a whole day's formula at one time and put in the fridge. Since it's a bit too cold (took out from the fridge) to feed the formula to my baby, I put the formula in the bottle warmer to warm up. And I guess I should have just warm it to room-temperature. Anyway, the formula become warm and my baby know that it taste better the the cool/cold one and refused to drink non-warm formula thereafters. :~( gum jau sui jor lah... thereafter, I need to warm the formula/expressed breastmilk or he won't drink it!
For water, he does drink room-temperature one though. And now, for baby food, I tried not to warm it and feed my son. I learned my lesson from the "warming formula". :D So my son will eat room-temperature or even a bit cool baby jarred food (if it's leftover baby food from the fridge, I just put the whole jar in some hot water to lightly make it less cold). I haven't try giving him to drink Maybe I will try that next time. But I fed my son the baby yogurt (took it right out from the fridge) and he ate that. (his would give out a funny look for the first spoonful of yogurt but later on he react normal).
bunnymonkey,
Amanda係返mon to fri 8am to 6pm, 佢就食day care 嘅food, breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea 同 supper..
Day care 日日食 Mac and cheese, hot dog, pizza, soup and bread, oatmeal, cereal, cakes and cookies, fires, soup noodles, sandwiches, yogurt, ice cream, iced cold fruit juice..
anyway, 你小B食rice cereal 食得好, 到1歲就 switch 去食飯, skip咗食粥咪得囉.. the only problem is obesity唓..
When I use the National brand fussy logic rice cooker to make the congee (唔gee suen ng suen 係西施煲?) under the "porridge setting", the 粥 actually is 好綿. But I am not sure what the 粥仔 for baby supposed to be like? I was even thinking maybe I add to add more water in it tim...
I also tried to add dried scallop (gong yiu chu) in the congee to make the congee has the favor (but pick out the scallop and didn't feed my son). My son still didn't like it. My son already has 6 teeth (top has 4, bottom has 2), so I thought he should be ok to chew something... but turn out my 粥仔 still didn't work for him.
wah, IamBallBall... 你都好有 "sum gay" to make the 粥仔 for your baby ah. yau soup, yau 粉, yau 南瓜, 紅蘿蔔. Cool!!! Last time I only tried to add the baby jar carrot in the 粥仔. My son ate it a bit more but he prefer the plain carrot instead of with the 粥仔 mixture.
