Larry's getting much better today and may discharge tomorrow or the day after. PHEW

All symptoms are gone this morning when I was there, did the ECHO (u/s scan for the heart) and not too bad.

Will be back to the office tomorrow and see if I can off in the afternoon.

Need to DO some sleep, more update tomorrow.

eeb, sorry to hear that. it must be tiring and worrying. same when little prince was admitted to the QEH a year ago. you must rest more. finally not a confirmed diagnosis. right?

confirmed Kawasaki and treated with 10 x 50ml IVIG. luckily this dosage worked and started aspirin afterward. will do some scanning for the liver today.

The doc said Larry will have to take aspirin for 8 weeks and then do the ECHO again to check the vessels and cardiac muscle etc. Is taking aspirin for this long OK for a kid of Larry's age? Will it affect his stomach and kidney/liver? Should I be aware of Reye's syndrome?

I am not as worry as 2 days agio, but my heart is still troubled.

sorry to hear Larry's diagnosis.

well, due to the potential serious side effect of treatment, diagnosis confirmation is needed before treatment. though aspirin may produce potential serious side effects but the prevention of the very serious complication(s) is very important. just balance of risk. don't worry too much. most kids recover with proper treatment. don't get sick yourselves!

reye syndrome is usually associated with viral infection and aspirin use. so, just use of aspirin is not very worrying. you can confirm with the doctor-in-charge on discharge from hospital if Larry needs to change to another drug during flu or other viral infection. don't worry too much. leave it to God as there is much we can't control but we can just do our best (giving treatment to Larry).

Takumi上次出院之後都少少depression, 佢地經歷左d唔明白原因同埋唔知點抒發的事情, 唯有用傾偈同埋時間等佢地回復正常...相信larry好快會做返個開心baby!

could be. He was connected to the pulse monitor when on IVIG treatment, every time a nurse pass by, his heartbeat was high enough to trigger the alarm. It's more a nurse detector than patient monitor.

Was he in the isolation ward? Little prince also behaved strangely when he was admitted to the isolation ward! But he seems to forget the experience completely now!
