Croup is upper airway obstruction, thus brochodilator may not help. Antibiotics cover and steroid usually needed. Consider consult ENT surgeon for a better look of the upper airway. Ribavirin aerosol inhalation may help. If breathing is noisy, hospital stay in safer.tokyogirl 寫道:

My baby has croup. Last Sunday (5/27) we admitted her to hospital for 2 nites. She took inhaled medicine and celestamine syrup, but there is not much improvement. We then took her to see her ped., who prescribed two doses of steroids. Still no improvement. She also had lung & neck x-ray.
Our ped. said now we shall only use normal cold med. and let baby's immune system take care of the virus. But baby still seems always fighting for breath & breathing has a high-pitched croasky noise. She also has mild fever sometimes. Anything else I can do to help her besides wait.
Really appreciate if you can provide some advice.
