Bosch,
If you are not planning to visit China very often, I suggest you not toapply as it is very hard to take photo at this early age. Besides, allpassport, 回郷咭 has expiration. Since he is eligible, you can apply itany time in the future. FYI, SAR passport only valid for 5yrs.

It is true that your son is mix, but I guess they cannot figure it outright way if he is mix with Chinese. Sometimes I miss that "superstar"compliments that we get in HK as now my son just a normal baby with bigeyes.

" 平時一個禮拜食二、三次中菜，中國節日食中菜" ...Did you eat out very often? Or that is yourhome cooking pattern? As I am the chef, I only know how to cook Chinesewhile my husband does complain too much Chinese. Sometimes he will cookhis Indian curry and I never know how to make it. But because of him, Ihave to modify our eating habbit, pizza, cheeze cake, using Italianspice and no Chinese dessert. My daughter is kind of like Chinese foodand she never like Indian curry. Funny thing is she never think she ishalf Indian as she only say she is Chinese and the brother is Canadianas he born in Canada.

Regarding the SAR passport, yes, your son is eligible under thecondition if you are permanent citizen of HK. eg, my son born inCanada, but since I am HK citizen(regardless if I have Canadiancitizen), I can apply my son to have 居留權. The process is you need totake him back to HK to submit the application, then you have to waitfew months (you can leave HK) in order to process, then you need tohave interview in order to verify your citizen status, once it isverified, then they will stamp your son's passport to have 居留權 at HK,then he can apply SAR passport.

我諗住橫掂而家要幫 bb影證件相用黎入藉, 我又放緊產假可以平日帶 bb 出街拎證件, 所以諗緊順便拎埋其他證件.

入境處個網講到如果父母係移居左海外, 咁bb 要住響香港 7 年至可以有中國藉. 我諗當年如果冇申報移左民, bb 應該可以隨時拎到特區護照?

As all passport has expiration, if you are not planning to visit, it is kind of waste. Besides, it is not easy to travel with baby at early age!

For the SAR passport, I am talking about the kids who born overseas. If your son is born in Holland, he cannot get his SAR passport right away.

。平時多數喺屋企食家庭飯。若果出去食中法菜都會揀視乎場合﹐興致。咖喱都好好食但要識整，一定要叫妳老公過招﹗

唔該晒有關啲居留權資料。今年八月中會返香港玩到時會幫佢申請。請問係邊張表格呀﹖明仔要出示乜證明文件呢﹖

我知 d passport 有效期唔耐, 我估bb 呢幾年內點都會返香港, 甚至會返大陸,所以橫掂影開證件相, 不如一次過攪掂 d 野至移民.

you need to fill up the form ROP 145 and you can download it from the link. I didnt sumbit it but I remembered it requires yours and your son's birth certificate copy.

If you are the chef at home, do you cook French cuisine? Do you use a big plate and put tiny food with some design on it....just kidding as that is what I know about French cuisine!
How about your son? Do you eat steam fish? I guess it is hard to find Chinese leavy vegetable, ie, choi sum, in France, right? How about dessert? Does your wife like any Chinese dessert, ie, red bean dessert?

For the application, it is not as hard as you think. Once you are verified the status, they will ask you to come for interview and once you pass, it is all done. You dont need to stay in HK for long but you need to visit there atleast twice, one for sumbit the form and other is for interview.

Regarding the food, does your wife like Chinese food? Or you mainly cook French? What is your favourite dishes? Your son is so young and just curious what solid food you gave him? Does she know congee?

I'm following your post on HKSAR passport issue and wanted to know more details:
My baby is born in the UK and I'm a 3*** HK citizen and we now live in the UK. You mention that there will be an interview to verify our status and baby can get HK citizenship but we dont need to stay in HK. Can you clarify: We need to submit the form in HK and we can then go away and wait for notification to attend interview? How long do we have to wait between submitting form and attending interview? Wonder if you can provide more details. TIA.

I am not an immigration officer and I think you better read the link again and again in order to understand it. Besides, I dont know if you are qualify to be permanent HK resident if you are not born in HK. Yes, you dont need to stay in HK but you need to sumbit it when you are in HK. I heard the whole process to verify is about few months but it also depends on how complicated is your background.

佢好鍾意中菜㗎!各式小菜到港式海鮮都掂㗎！我一星期整一兩次中菜咁喇 : 湯、點心(珼成)、蒸魚、炒菜...。通常會整啲菜肉糊仔。佢都好好粥㗎!:lol: ... so you also change your cooking style as I can see 1 or 2 time Chinese is very little time compare with the whole week.

譯成英文之餘, 可能要 certify 埋?? 因為我地幫 bb 拎出世紙, 入境處都要我地張結婚證書譯成英文同埋要 certify 呀.

有時我都想過第日同老公住時應該點煮送... 你地會唔會去 d 華人超巿買野?

I'm familiar with the information provided in the link but I thought some of you might have the actual experience of how long the process would take so that I can plan ahead if I want my baby to get HK residency. It is not easy to travel frequently nor to stay in HK for too long.
