Hay, Yiu Chung is a v famous international school lai gor wor.....esp good in chinese, unlike other international schools in HK !! My colleagues' sons and daughters mainly go to international school and they highly recommended Yiu Chung over Victoria wor.......BTW, I have the feelilng that Victoria is more commercial.....anyway worth a try.
We don't want our daughter go to international......as we don't want her to be so 'open'...........you know.........however, even I am not from international school......but brought up in such a school environment (gov't school then local U)........I still not acting like traditional chinese.......if I go international school is really 'ng duck dim'..........

Well, I had the same experience with katyfok. The first kid was completely an accident. I still remembered when I knew I was pregnant, I cried and strictly lying in bed after work, no make up, no perfume for 3 whole months, before I could barely accept the news.....
And then, my belief is also the same, either 0 kid or 2 kids in order to make the kids living healthily especially mentally and socially....now, they get along perfectly well, she is always the one who makes the brother laugh and vice versa...Yes, I love both very much. No regret now though I admit that my life changed a lot theses years....
My daughter was once studied in Victoria pre-nursery, very commercial, but the school always make both the kids and parents happy. 2x/year performance, very close relationship between the school and parents, website with updated photos of your kids every month......But I cannot comment on whether it's good academically because my daughter only stayed there for the pre-nursery class....at least she loved the school a lot...
I still cannot make up my mind if I should send my kids to international school or not.....too many concerns...
LV and SF, I loved both, but more towards SF....
But my trip to West Coast was years ago, I still remembered I stayed in New York New York because that was the newest hotel at the moment whereas the Bellagio was still under construction, not yet open...you can imagine how long ago it was...
Sams, if I were you, only get 2 days, never been to the place...then I will save my time to those "famous spots" first..I am sure Katy has pm you all the information...
So which part of Thailand will you go? I used to like Thailand a lot because the food and spa is superb and my hubby can play golf the whole day.
And which international school in Shatin did you mention? Do you mean Shatin Junior? Tons of my colleagues' kids study there. I am sure the standard is not bad. Do you think of the Chinese International School in HK Isand?
Same as u, I don't like kids at all before I had my own child... i don't feel interested to play with other kids...when my sisters are chasing them around to carry & "meet" them, i am totally not interested to play with kids at all... now, of course i love my daughter and had better interests at other kids, but still not those "love kids" person..katyfok, u are not bad, same as u, i only love my child but not others... haa haa... anyway, i can easily lose temper & get impatient, better stick with one child now... my husband teased me if i have 2 kids, i will throw them out from the window when i go crazy!!! haa haa..

I'm sure Victoria is a great school for your daughter... i also hesitate to let my daughter to study at international school as i'm afraid i can't control her when she's older... even now, she is too energetic and non-stop moving and running around... i think SPCS is not too traditional.. they have discipline but still open to the kids / parents... the Principal from SPN is quite funny during Parents Day... anyway, i think different schools have their pros & cons... we just wish to give the best to our children... it is still a long way for them to grow up, just let them try different things and by the end, they have to choose for themselves ga la...

As I need to take a break on the Chanel bags, I will go for a LV bag as it is cheaper, the Neverfull GM... i know this bag will be all over HK (and among China freedoms), but i like the big size tote and i can use it as nappy bag... anyway, I have reserved one and don't know when it will arrive... it is not an exciting bag, just as a causal 粗用 bag la... :-P
Yes, it is the large size bag at $5120.... i think the $4800 is the medium size... anyway, i haven't bought LV for a while la, just thought this one is a good buy... not too expensive and the size is big ma.... hee hee!
I always like my daughter to study at local school as i really don't know how she will end up in international school... but when she grows up, we still plan to send her study overseas ... just our initial plan... still long way to go...
In fact, my son will be schoolmate of bobo daughter in coming aug studing Victoria. I also think Victoria is commercial but this is the one who have kinder, p and s school. If Kingston have sec school, I definitely not change to Victoria ar.
It is "cheap" wor, even cheaper than my LV batignolles tim. Worth buying ar!

Whether to send the kids into international school or local school is definitely the most difficult issue that I face at the moment.....every time I thought of it, I got severe headache...I hope I will sort it out soon.
Discipline is the most worrying in studying international school, but the pressure "apply" to the kids by the local school and the local educational system cannot be neglected as well.
hm.... I think as to International school... I only trust the OLD Brands... so there's only 2 choices for me...
CIS or HKIS...
I know CIS is kinda hard to get in... and Chinese is very much emphazied ( which is good!)... hKIs is very Amercian ... I like it coz the college placement seems to be very well....
I guess we all worry about our kids schooling.. IS or Local... but for me, I think I will try her with Local school first.. coz .. don't we all grow up in pressure? and that's the " essense' of Local Education.. Kids in HK do very well in college in US, UK... why? because if they can deal with local system... they're most likely to be able to deal with a lot of things in life...!
but of course, in terms of creativity , the kids' ability to articulate and willingness to express freely.. Int'l school kids seems to do better...
Anyway, my thought is if Local school is no good for her.... I can always try Int'l school later.. but it's rather hard to turn back if I go Int'l first!!!!
BUT.... I believe there's no need to decide NOW... your kid 's wil " tell you" in her/his own way ... and you will know!

Yes, CIS is also my dreamschool.
Your black cabas is more versatile and longer lasting ga......it's nice! You will like it....because you can put anything in it.....
