Spelling tests for the high frequency words? As I remember when we were young in HK, we usually learned some simple nouns first like apple, boy, cat, duck etc. But here they will start learning high frequency words which are not necessarily nouns. B4 Kiyomi started school, I have never thought of teaching her high frequency words as I only thought of teaching her those simple nouns!!!

I wonder the same thing as you. I can see the school playground from my bedroom window. Though the snow in my garden is starting to melt slowly, I can still see the school playground is all covered by think snow. So I am thinking if the school will open or not tomorrow? Do u think the school will open even though the playground still covered by lots of snow???

Though my bone is cracking, I will still go cycling ga wor?! Does Marcus ride a 2 wheels bike? Donovan learned to ride 2 wheels last summer. My hubby insisted teaching him though I thought he was too little!! At last, he could really control the bike!! I was so impressed and happy.

i've just been informed both schools wl be opened tomorrow.. but starting time wl be 10am... how about yours?

the spelling test is verbal test or need to write down? na.. i dont think marc can spell them out.. ! i m sure he can read them out but defintely not spell....like 'i' he wl say the sound of short 'e'..but not the sound of 'eye' lor...

o, really? you must be very sporty as well! i like sports but dont like go with kids !!haha!! Donovan very smart la can ride 2wheels.. we intended to teach marc to ride but he didnt concentrate mah.. so wl try this yr again!

wow!Donovan is very clever ar. irene is riding 2 wheels with two small wheels on it to balance. Irene is not brave enough to go without them even with help. she is too scare.

Children have to write down the words on the spelling test book. But it is one to one test, unlike yr1 and above. they do the test one teacher to one child, in yr1 and above, they do the test to the whole group.

I guess so... but I'm too lazy to go to GP... and it takes usually a week time to meet her unless you say it's really urgent!

I'm not a sporty person too but I needed to cycle everyday when I was in Japan... haha... I was so scared to cycle on the pavement with people walking/cycling next to me at the beginning. My Japanese teacher (a 50+ lady) was so surprised when I told her we do cycling as leisure activity only in HK.

my whole body is sore and i thought it was the pain fm playing snow.. but i just realized i got temp!! 39c.. no wonder i m so tired la..i guess becoz of the sore throat or flu... poor me!

They learn phonics at school mah, so they will say the sound instead of the alphabets. Even when Kiyomi is doing spelling verbally, she will spell the sound out e.g. test, she will spell as 'ta' 'ei' 'si' ta', instead of just saying 't' 'e' 's' 't'. I think they used to say that at school lor.
I think Marc can spell some words la, maybe u don't realise jeh as he doesn't have any proper spelling test, so u just assume he can't spell lor!

No la, me sporty? Don't laugh me die la! When I was at school, I am the worst one at PE in my class! Cycling and swimming is ok if u don't need me to race!
