They are one year older than my daughter. Very cute for always in perfect match (same clothes, shoes and accessories).

我諗係同一個人喇。不過佢今次冇係比賽前問有沒有家長替自己的子女伴奏，而係o係比賽後講評語時，第一句就話對鋼琴伴奏非常失望，話鋼琴唔應該"蓋"過小提琴聲，又話呢個係小提琴比賽，應該請d專業和有經驗既伴奏，雖然佢講既野有d都講得幾岩，但我覺得唔駛咁惡囉，d小朋友真係好驚架

原來呢對 twins 係 Elise 嘅朋友，佢地係咪同 Elise 同一個老師呀？好可惜上次 duet 無聽到佢地彈，因為佢地係上一組！我初時以為佢地同 Matthew 咁大，原來佢地仲大過 Elise 呀！不過佢地真係好cute！ :lol:

Oh, the twins are APA piano students?!

Sonia got the 2nd place while Hillary got the 3rd place in our group. The 1st place went to a secondary school girl.

How's Elise's piano solo (Bach) competition?

My daughter had her first try on the event this morning, she scored 84 marks with no award. A disappointed yet resonable result. She still has a long way to go to her winning destiny.

84 marks is very good result for a first attempt in music competition. Congradulations to Stephanie.

With her musical talent and commitment, I am sure there are many prizes waiting for her in the year to come. Guess she will try cello next year too !!

Hi,

My daughter finished her Grade 4 piano solo today. She got 90 marks and first position. The 2nd is 87 marks and the 3rd is 86 marks.

Thanks to Zoey for your guidelines in playing Bach. That offers much insight in our practise. This is just the 3rd Bach piece my daughter played, including the first one in John Thompson Grade One. But we listened to a lot of Bach CDs to learn the style. Usually, she started understanding the song more just a few days before the competition.

This afternoon before the competition, she played to her teacher who felt that the playing was not good enough yet - not expressive enough, tempo not steady enough, ending not bright enough, player not listening enough to own playing ... (actually my daughter admitted all her shortcomings but just kept making the same mistakes). When she thoughtfully sent my daughter out of her office to the competition, she kept reminding her on the way not to be disappointed if she lose !! My daughter agreed to do her best and be happy !! Surprisingly, she really listened well and played steady tempo while performing. She was so carefree in the performance that she could look around and sang to the tune, something she did not do in regular practice. The adjudicator commented that she was really confident.

That was still a lucky winning. And my daughter was so happy that she got her ticket to perform in the school's winner concent (only for first prize winners).
