forgot US has more options than us. We have movie channels but it is very expensive here and we didnt subscribe any of them.

Did your husband watch Chinese TV with you? We usually watch tv together in the living room, but when I watch Chinese news, they will all run away! I hardly has conflict, but my daughter only like Treehouse and my husband always fight with her, so either she ran away to her room or we just tolerate it.

Since the DVD is only at my daughter room for her games, my husband cannot watch any movie at her room, so we need to buy another one at the living room. Did you do the same or you watch different DVD at the same time?[quote]

I'm having a girl, as my hubby is an english, so we are going to have a chinese english mix baby girl, we both a bit excitied and a bit worried how will she looks like. Coz everybody said my tummy looks like a boy's tummy more than a girl's tummy and my husband said ppl wouldn't notice I'm pregnant if they only look at my back.

I really want to let my baby have brest feeding as long as possible but as I'm still working, I'm afraid I might not be able to be brest feeding as long as you. By the way, regarding the snow brand, is it Japanese snow brand or hongkong snow brand?? I've heard lots of mami said Japanese formular is good for baby. What do you think?

We had our early x'mas dinner at nikko hotel last Wed (without little Arthur) The semi buffet at the french restaurant there is very nice and romantic, too I had ordered a Turkey and we will have our family X'mas dinner on X'mas day. You guys know how to make the gravy? Last year, I only use the cranberry sauce because I am not a good cook

It is really very hard to keep breastfeeding your baby while going to work. However, I think as long as you try, you can do it. I have been breastfeeding my baby all along. She is now 5 and a half months old. I went back to work when she was 10 weeks old. Although, now, she is on mixed feeding (fomular milk + bf), I will still continue to bf her.

By the way, my baby also have snowbrand (Japanese version). I think it is better. You can get it much cheaper from an online shop (re-on) than in citysuper/jusco.

We also didn't subscribe the movie channels through cable TV. We use an online movie provider called Netflix (do you have this in Canada?). Actually we are going to switch to Blockbuster because they are trying to compete with Netflix and offer a better deal.

No, my husband doesn't watch Chinese TV with me because they only have chinese subtitle, not english...But he likes to watch HK movies, so much more than I do. We always watch movies together, alternating his and my types of movie! Some VCDs that my mom or friends sent me from HK can't be read from the DVD player we have, so we have to buy another one that can read those discs!

Your daughter is so lucky!! She must have a lot of toys, she even has her own TV and DVD player!

You must be very slim before pregnancy! How much weight do you gain so far? When I was pregnant with my son, I had a very big and pointy belly --- a typical boy's belly~ I gained 40lbs.... My son was 8.9lbs at birth though

I think mixed baby usually quite big. My little girl was also big girl, borned 3.88kg.

I gained total 55 pounds the whole pregnancy. now still remain 30 pounds over my original weight:-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

No, we dont have any Netflix or similar company in Canada. Just wonder how much you pay? Did you pay for each movie you watch and how you receive it? By mail?

Do you watch "Spike" channel? There is so many Chinese movies but all in english. Some I never seen, such as Bruce Lee speaking english! It is kind of old, but atleast it is all english and my husband likes it more than me!

Yes, DVD has certain code and did you buy the DVD from HK and bring it here? Since I dont really like to watch Chinese movie by myself, I never thought to have one HK DVD player.

what type of movies you like? I dont really like watching sad movie as I cry easily. My husband always wait for that moment and pass me tissue. Do you have any plan to watch the latest movie from "Will Smith"? Since my husband is on holiday now, he just watched it yeterday and he loves it very much.

I didnt buy many toys, but I like the educational games. The Interactive TV from Fisher Price is my daughter's favourite. She learns alot from playing that games and this is the main reason I put the DVD in her room, otherwise, we have to force to watch her playing games everyday!

Yes, I was slim before pregnancy, I'm 150cm with 44kg. But I've been back to England and Holland in August and I didn't know I've pregnant at that moment. I only noticed I've got sth wrong when I had morning sickness at the last few days in England. So when I got back to HK. I went to see the doctor and found out, at that time I've lost 4kg during my vacation. So from August I was 40kg and now I'm nearly 50kg. But it seems all my fat gone to my tummy and my arms and face still skinny. I think my baby might not be too big as me and my hubby are tiny person and he is not a big tough gwailo like others. But I wish she could get to 7 pounds when she born.

Tkx for your information, I would try my best to bf her as long as possible. I think I will be the same as you which is (bf + formular), to be a bf mom in Hong Kong it's not easy. But in England, they have at least 6 mths pregnancy leave with salary and the fathers can leave 1 hour before off work if they have a NB baby at home and which is never happen in HK :-(

Your daughter was born big too!! Did you have a vaginal birth or C-section? Is she still big now compared to girls at her age?
I still have 10lbs or so over my pregnancy weight... :cry: I know some people who go back to their pregnancy weight really fast! How lucky!

The plan we use with Netflix costs US$10 something for 1 DVD at a time with unlimited DVDs per month. That means we get 1 dvd each time by mail, we watch it and return it in a prepaid envelop to them, they receive it and mail another dvd to us. Normally we can get 6-8 dvds a month. There are other plans that you can get more than 1 dvd at a time, they just cost more. We're switching to Blockbuster because they even let us return it to the store and pick up a new one right away! Maybe Blockbuster in Canada also provides this kind of service!?

We don't like to watch dubbed movies because the dubbed voices are always weird and unnatural. Even though my husband can't understand cantonese, he still prefers to watch the original version. If the movie is dubbed, we won't rent it.

Those discs which can't be played by the dvd player are all VCDs from HK! We didn't buy a HK DVD player though. We just need to buy a cheap dvd player here, then it can be played. Interesting, isn't it? Probably it's something to do with the security system...!?!

We both enjoy comedy/romantic comedy. I like romance and foreign movies (like european or artistic movies). I also like sad movies, but my husband rarely watch them with me. He likes action/gangster movies. I don't keep up with the latest movies, my husband mostly does that. I will ask him about Will Smith~

Educational games? That's great! Toys nowadays are so different from those we used to play

How do you meet your husband? How big/tall is your husband? My husband is not big either, he is very tall but not fat. As long as your baby is healthy, you don't need to worry too much about how much she weighs!
