各位媽咪,

想問你地以前有無試過帶1歲以下嘅bb返先生老家呢?
昨天我husband同我老爺奶奶在skype傾計, 我奶奶已經問我husband可唔可以6月帶bb返英國, 我預產期是3月22日, 到了6月bb先得幾個月大, 返英國直航要13個鐘, 而飛機又係密封, 實會有人傷風感冒, 其實我都唔想, 我老公同我奶奶話到時先再講, 之後我奶奶又問咁8月得唔得, 英國嘅8月都開始返風, 加上放完產假後我都唔方便再請假, 我心目中係最快都要等到bb1歲過後先帶bb返英國, 等bb成長得好d先出門, 我可以點做先唔得失我奶奶呢?

I will never bring my baby to UK before one year old. One of my friend did that about two years ago when her baby was about 6 months old and it was an absolute nightmare. Apart from being a screaming baby during the flight, her baby got sick in UK coz she used UK's water to make her formular milk. Somehow, her baby could not adapt and fell sick. She spent the whole two weeks in her parents in-law's home and did not go out shopping or dining at all!!!!

I migrate to Canada when my daughter is 10months old. Imagine I have no relatives/friend in Canada and we stay in hotel when we first land. Plus we have to look for place to stay and get to know the new city. She was never serious sick and we travel in and out by public transport all times.

However, wait your baby to come out first and no one know what will happen next.

Your son is so handsome, have any agents asked your son to be their model?
I only breastfed my son for about 4 months because I didn't have enough milk :-( I wish I could have breastfed for at least a year...... Anyway, he is now taking formula and having baby food. Well, he's pretty healthy so far (touchwood)~
I guess you are easily waken up by your son as he sleeps with you in the same bed. My son sleeps in his crib in his own room

I paid US$370/month ($20 copay at each visit) for health insurance before. After I delivered the baby, I have switched to a very basic plan (which doesn't cover maternity and some other areas). As we are not planning to have another baby right now, I don't need a plan which covers maternity. It costs $155/month ($25 copay at each visit + some lab work fees if any). My son's insurance costs over $200 (also $25 copay at each visit). It's not cheap at all.....Just thinking about this really makes me want to go live in hk!
We have to drive everytime we go out, so carseat safety is very important. Also my husband is very safety conscious. There was a featured news article on yahoo about carseat safety last week. It talked about some carseats failed the crash tests at even 35mph. Can you imagine how bad the crash will be/how serious the baby will be injured when it's on a highway (65mph)?!? The article suggested people not to buy Evenflo. The two good ones it mentioned were Baby Trend (i forgot the model name) and Graco Snugride. Do you need to drive everytime you go out? Or you can use public transportation?

We took our son to visit my in-laws (4.5 hour flight) when my son was 7 months old. He did very well on the planes and during the entire trip. He adjusted to the new places, new people and new time zone well. A friend of mine had to fly with her little girl several times when she was 6-11 months old due to her husband's job, Toronto--Seattle--Toronto--Budapest, Hungary--Hong Kong. Her little girl never got sick or anything!!! I think it really depends on your baby's health and temperament. Of course it's better if your in-laws can visit you guys in HK! Can they?

Just wonder if your huband can get any credit back in taxes? It is really high!
For us, we are opposite. NO cost on doctor visit but not sure if there is any limit per year as we rarely visit doctor.
My husband just went to see the doctor again on 2JAN about his chest/rib pain and did the blood and urine test...can stop him as it is free anyway!
how about dispencing fee from pharmacy? I know many American came to Canada to buy drugs or shop it online as we are cheaper, but we have $7 dispencing fee on each presciption drugs. Recently I found out I have fugus in my private part and need medication. My OB give me anti biotic and a cream. The antibotic is only $1.65 but with dispencing fee, it comes out with $8.65! The cream on counter selling $15 but since it is on precription as it is stronger, it cost $13 + 7 = $ 20!

Regarding on car seat, yes, I heard about the article but since we only travel for very short distance, within 10mins drive and it is rare for us to use highway, we are in low risk. Plus my husband is a very conscious driver! We use Cosco and we have put her in the middle of the car with 2 latch locked it at the side, so she is very safe and we will never drive if she is not on seat belt.

I use peer pressure to pursed my daughter when she was just over 3yrs. first I have her to sleep from her own bed which is just next to my bed, when she is older, I know her best friend and just lie to her that he sleeps on his own room and want her to follow his foot step. Hope this give you idea.
