Me and my husbund are planning for a separation. We have a 4 yr old daughter. I just want to see if anyone can give me more idea what is it going to be like for our daughter to live in a single parent family. thx

Very sorry to hear the news from you! I dont know what advise to give you but I wish you all the best. Make sure you get enough money from him in order to support you and your daughter.

Hi b9lingling,

sorry to know that. Do you plan to work or being a stay home mom? I believe you can get more tax credit as a single parent.

Don't worry that your daughter will get discriminated at school because that is pretty common in our society. I would advise you to tell your daughter school for this change, so they can understand for any emotional up and down of your daughter.

There are books about separation for the children to understand what the matter is. Hope you and your daughter can go through this smoothly.
