my new indo. maid arrived around 1 month. She was good in view of cleaning, cooking (no problem cooking for 8 person by referring cook book!), honestly. However, my 3 yrs boy is not very much like her as she cannot communicate too well with him in both cantonese & english. Since she does not know english, she can't sing song & read book with him. More importantly, I can't imagine a 24 years old lady doesn't know how to play with kids (when she arrived, I askedher to play with my boy, she just looked at him and did not know what to do). All in all, if my boy is big, I don't require her to play with him, she is very good. Do you think I should switch back to Philippines maid?? (My boy was usedto take cared by a phil. lady who ran away, my boy still asking me where is she)
Thank you, this is what I think and trying it right now. I'll now talk to my son more and explains to him. A good maid is very difficult to find nowadays. I'll try 2 more months see how it goes..
Thanks for all mum advise. I also let her to watch TV with my boy and I hope it also helps. Actually, other than language barrier, both my husband & I noticed that she is an introvert, bit quiet person. I can see that she did not enjoy too much to play with kid but she told me that she likes playing with kids (I think most maids will say to employer). My son's teacher told me that when she was with my boy on the school bus, she will just call her friends and never talk to my boy.....
Anyway, I'm interviewing some filipino maids but will be selective as all of you said, she is quite good and if I break contract with her, it's hard for her to find a new employer!
since your buy already stay at school at lease half day, so the issue play with him is less important I guess.
If I were you, I will keep this maid, good cooking is a gift to you.most indo maid can't cook well.
