my son is 6 and has severe knee pain at night from time to time. we took him to see a pediatric orthopedic and i hope it's just growing pain. but mommy could help by streching both legs every day. (according to physical therapist & also specialist) first hold one leg and put it on your shoulder. sit on or hold the other leg so it wont move. press down the knee (leg on your shoulder) and count to 40. change legs. do it everyday and it should help. we did take him to have x-ray done and if it's getting worse. mri might be necessary. unfortunately dr will only be concern if the legs feel warm, look swollen or limping. hope it helps.
