老公的公司叫老公考慮到美國Milpitas的headquarter 工作，並可安排兩個小朋友(現香港讀小二和小五)到當地讀書。自己對美國的環境並不熟悉, 所以心中有很多疑問，麻煩大家給點意見。

1) 1) 我們先選擇學校，再到學校附近找居所。學校方面主要是找 privateschool and Christian school。暫時所見在 Milpitas
的學校華人佔的比例很大，怕小朋將來講普通話多過英文，也怕競爭很大。有沒有在小朋友在Milpitas讀書的家長可以給點意見？

2) 2) 在網上找到一間Fremont ChristianSchool, 請問這間學校的學校風好嗎？

3) 3) Send 了email問過這間學校，她說小朋友雖然可以做localstudent, 但怕他們未能適應英語環境，建議他們做international student, 但學費貴很多，是否一般學校都會這樣？

4) 4) 從網上見到Fremont 這個地區的townhouse 價錢也合我們的budget, 老公揸車返工大約20-30分鐘車程，大家覺得住在這裏ok嗎？

5) 5) 有沒有其他學校和地區可以推介？

你老公係米囉working visa H or L? 如果係可以讀public school, milpitas 的public school在bay area 係avg 以上, 絕大部分有8分（10分滿分），通常係住邊就指定讀邊間學校, here is a website for ur reference ：http://www.greatschools.org/

Bay area好多華人，但係學校一定講英文，唔洗擔心。

至於private school, 小學一般都over USD1200一個月，你兩個都幾重皮，租屋 one bedroom apt 大約2500

Fremont係milpitas 校區都唔錯，租金就應該平少少

其實你自己係想小朋友以後講英文定中文？你要考慮將會留美幾耐，只係合約幾年定係會長住。喺呢度大小朋友唔駛擔心，反而呢度D媽咪係驚仔女只會講英文唔講中文，個個返學都係講英文，要學唔難，越細個越容易學容易適應。

你check下老公公司將會幫佢申請咩工作証咩身份，你地係咪依親，如果可以就講公校，Milpitas或Fremont校區喺灣區嚟講係唔錯，唔一定要讀私校，私校一定叫你做international student，收你貴成倍嘛，除非普通課程同海外學生課程唔同，否則一齊上又關咩事？唔同在本地生同海外生學費差好遠。

你最初嚟到租住好D，townhouse其實同普通屋分別不大，係差在要俾管理費，同埋好多嘢有限制，同時亦有人幫你代勞。其實Fremont近年係多咗中國人，但又未去到話多到會小朋友講普通話唔講英文，而家印度人都唔少。講讀書校區，Mountain View、Sunnyvale、Cupertino、San Jose都係好，但屋價貴同埋食都唔平。

I used to live pretty close to Milpitas so I'm pretty familiar with the area!
Although my kids have never been to the public schools, I heard that they are not bad in Milpitas: http://api.cde.ca.gov/acnt2014/a ... mp;cChoice=2013BDst
Otherwise, most of my friends send their kids to the Milpitas Christian School (available from preschool to 8th grade).

Meanwhile, I also have friends who live in Fremont and their public schools are pretty good: http://api.cde.ca.gov/acnt2014/a ... mp;cChoice=2013BDst
The Fremont Mission San Jose district is highly rated but extremely competitive and there are mainly Chinese and Indians. Fremont Warm Spring district (with Irvning High school) is also good and next to the Mission San Jose district.
Frankly speaking, the academics at the public schools in the Mission San Jose and Warm Springs districts might be even better than that at the Fremont Christian School. However, class size is much bigger than the private schools!

By the way, North San Jose is also near Milpitas and the Berryessa school district in North San Jose is also not bad. However, the population is also not diversified and mainly Asian.

My husband's company will apply L1B visa for him and L2 visa for our kids and me. We will stay in US for long term. We hope the kids will start to study in US in coming August or September. We don't want the school to be very competitive as our kids have suffered from HK education already.

As Milpitas Christian School only provides education up to 8th grade only, is it easy to go to other high schools (either private or public) in the same area? Besides academic level, are the teachers caring?

Although my kids have never been to Milpitas Christian School, I heard from my friends and old neighbors that the teachers are pretty caring there. One of my old neighbors had moved to the Fremont Mission San Jose district and his son went to the public elementary school there. He said that the teacher at the Mission San Jose elementary was not as patient as those at Milpitas Christian school.

Similar to those Christian elementary/junior high schools, Milpitas Christian School is also one of the feeder schools to Valley Christian High School in San Jose. So, if the students got a B average or above and with good behavior, they will be waived for the entrance exam and accepted by Valley Christian High School. Other than Valley Christian, the rest might go to the Kings Academy (Christian high school in Sunnyvale and requires interviews for the whole family) or the local Milpitas High School.
You can schedule for a tour or go to their open house, talk to the teachers and principal and ask them which high schools their graduates have attended.

By the way, I know Stratford School will have a new campus in Milpitas, but their tuition is higher since it's a non-religious private school, and it's more academic and might be more stressful for the kids.

你喺美國讀書唔使擔心小朋友講國語而唔講英文。有一日小朋友分分鐘唔再同你講廣東話，而全英文。喺美國講多啲國語係件好事，有語言嘅優勢將來都會幫到佢，這一點你不用擔心。

我以前住過Milpitas 又係Fremont 返工，你識唔識揸車？因為接送小朋友可能就係交俾你既責任，Milpitas 同Fremont 都好近，返工如果再塞車，點對點都係20分鐘左右。我會建議你考慮學校先，再選擇住邊度。我同意租townhouse先，開始慢慢適應先租或買屋。因為剛剛來美國如果屋企有啲乜嘢壞，要整都好麻煩。你租屋打電話俾業主就乜都搞掂晒。記住係美國租屋基本上所有野壞咗你都可以要求業主整好。

至於小朋友讀書嘅壓力，係香港讀過書嘅小朋友，喺美國讀書簡直happy到不得了。就算Stratford 呢類比較學術性高啲嘅學校，對於香港嘅小朋友黎講，簡直易如反掌。英文剛開始第一年可能我要慢慢catch up,但過咗一年之後應該冇問題。坦白講係美國讀書真係唔係大壓力。至少冇TSA 哈哈:)
