Have suffered from 乳線炎 for over 3 weeks..Consulted both 健康院 and private doctor and both gave me 抗生素 but still not helpful. Finally refer me to a doctor who specialized on breast and found out have lots of 膿. She helped me to 抽膿 2 times which is really so painful. She said if still cannot solve the problem, may need to 開刀 to remover all 膿.

Now she asks me to eat 回奶丸 and not to breastfeed BB. I am so disappointed !!! As I have breastfeed my BB for only 3 months and really want to continue..

Any mommy unluckily has similar experience. Please share or any other breast doctor you can refer...as the doctor I consulted seems not so support breastfeed. I would like to have 2nd opinion... Please help. Thank you.

sorry to hear your situation. you are not suffering from 乳線炎 but breast abscess which can be very serious. breast surgeons are, in general, more concerned with the abscess problem rather than breastfeeding. really need to see how bad your abscess is. IF it is not too big or in very crucial position (really donno your situation), i think you can continue to breastfeed after the situation is cured. you may need stronger antibiotics. in that case, temporary stop is needed. discuss with your doctor and express your strong will of continuation.

wish you can continue seeing the surgeon. when the pus inside is cleared up and the antibiotics can reach the site, the situation will be controlled (provided that the bacteria is not too bad).

get well soon. wish no operation is needed.

我想問下病徵係點?
我都懷疑我有乳腺炎.....打算今日去睇下e生,唔知睇咩科,還是睇普通家庭e生?
我早幾日乳頭有d痛,開頭以為係比阿囡啜損左,但噚晚出左去食飯,係餵奶房餵左阿囡10分鐘,之後就乳頭就痛到飛起. 噚晚半夜起身泵奶已經好痛,,,,,,今朝起身時,個乳房係一郁到就痛......仲有d紅紅地.....

要睇醫生，餵完奶都唔清，好痛，唔餵都痛，發燒，ｄｄ都係病徵．

我睇家庭醫生，佢都可以開藥比我．如果有婦產科應該好ｄ．

你加油呀！！我好欣賞你為０左ｂｂ唔放棄餵人奶．係ｈｋ或者有ｄ醫護都唔係支持母乳，我睇過website,佢話你個case雖然痛, 都可以keep on 餵, 對病情會有幫助.

我而家都suffer 緊yeast infection, 之前乳線炎啱啱先食完抗生素. 聽日醫院人奶顧問會泥我屋企探我, 我到時再幫你問.

14. If the mother has an infection she should stop breastfeeding.

Not true! With very, very few exceptions, the mother’s continuing to breastfeed will protect the baby. By the time the mother has fever (or cough, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, etc) she has already given the baby the infection, since she has been infectious for several days before she even knew she was sick. The baby's best protection against getting the infection is for the mother to continue breastfeeding. If the baby does get sick, he will be less sick if the mother continues breastfeeding. Besides, maybe it was the baby who gave the infection to the mother, but the baby did not show signs of illness because he was breastfeeding. Also, breast infections, including breast abscess, though painful, are not reasons to stop breastfeeding. Indeed, the infection is likely to settle more quickly if the mother continues breastfeeding on the affected side.

Yes, I will keep on seeing the surgeon. Now taking both anti-bioetic and chinese medicine (seperate for 4 hours)...Hope situation will be able to control. My Chinese doctor said I can continue to breastfeed after the problem solved which make me happy !!!

As I am 埋身全人奶 before so now need to bottle feed formula. BB sometimes only drink half of bottle and don't want to drink anymore which make me feel very upset...I feel really quilty and cried several times because of that..

我同你的情況不同..最初右邊乳房較上位置有小小紅, 以為是普通乳腺塞, 只是用熱"fu"及多的比阿b啜多d右邊及邊啜邊推, 但幫助不大, 可能由於位置太上. 一個星期後開始有一晚發燒..便食之前健康院比我的7天抗生素及止痛藥,但可持續餵人奶, 一個星期後有小小好轉但不太理想,醫生要我再食7天同樣的抗生素, 我覺得不對勁所以即日走去看我的婦科醫生,他給我照ultrasound發現有2個"泡", 又給了我7天抗生素,他說這種抗生素比健康院那種好,可持續餵人奶.
一個星期後又有小小好轉但不太理想,醫生要我再食7天同樣的抗生素,我真的很不願意,但吃了3天後有一晚發燒,覺得不對勁打電話給他,他轉介我看Breast科. 醫生ultrasound 後馬上給我抽2大支膿..真是很痛,又要我食7天特強抗生素,令次真的不能餵阿b la..
及要求我吃回奶丸及不要再餵人奶,我當場哭了出來.她見我這樣再沒有迫我. 2天後覆診又幫我抽膿, 抽完真的很痛今次她真的開回奶丸給我,但我真的不想食所以昨天看中醫想拿多個意見.. 現在等多一星期看看情況,希望不要做手術開刀清膿及停餵人奶,我不要求再全人奶, 可給我餵一2餐已心足.
我見意是如發現問題要快快看醫生較好..

我都食緊藥, 但打email 去母乳協會問, 佢話d藥okie, 可以餵, 我怕幾日唔餵, 阿囡唔肯埋身, so far 而家okie, 但奶量少左20%, 仲有心理問題...好怕下次又塞, 又發燒

germs get into breast via the small wound is true. that's why learning good technique in latching on is so important. bacteria can be killed easily. but fungi are not. so, be careful. for some very bad cases, pumping instead of skin-to-skin is needed. but most cases, continue to feed skin-to-skin is better.

我頭先同人奶顧問EE 傾0左兩個幾鐘. 佢話就算有發炎, even 係膿包,都可以照餵, 但如果係膿包係乳頭0既位置, 就唔好餵果邊, 因為怕bb 會食0左膿. 但可以keep住食另一邊

至於點解你食0左0甘多antibiotic都好唔番, 佢話可能係mistreat, 或者係mama 太stressed or 休息唔夠. 佢話開刀放膿, 會係breast 0既affected 開刀. 所以mama 係可以keep住餵. unless 你個case 係膿包係乳頭位置, 0甘就要唔可以餵affected 果邊, 因為怕bb 食0左膿.
