I just bought nikon sb600 from Wing Shing for my D90. After that, i took several picture at night indoor. But it seemed that there was no big different as compared the in-built lighting of the camera.
I want to know what is the setting when using flash light (auto mode or P mode or other setting I have to pay attention to)??
I bought this flash light with hope that the power of this flash light can make the picture brighter than those picture taken with in-built lighting. The picture is more soft, but for brighting, there is no much improvement, even though I have used ev+0.03

I just took the picture in my home. So the ceiling is not high usually below 9 feets. I decided to buy a flash light becasue when I took picture in indoor, the brightness of the picture seemed to be not enough. I thought that using separate flash lighting, the bringthness will be better. But after comparing, I took one with in-built flash and other with sb600, under same situation and position and distance, the difference is not big.
Of course, at this moment, I still not yet fully understand how to apply the flash lighting to got best result.
But I want to know your professional opinion, whether using flash light is usually brighter than in-built fash??. Other there is some problem with my newly purchased flash light

Moreover, when I watch your photo of the little girl, her face and the picture is usually bright enough. How should I make the setting with same result (based on sb600). Thanks
