Due to friend, family gathering, my family went to Chime Long for 3 times this year.
Share my experience to you. Each of them I booked the package w/ extension night through HKCTS which may not be the cheaper one but more reliable and flexible in transportation.
We always take intercity through train (直通火車), travel train no. T824 from HKG to Guangzhou East. That is a double deck train and operated by HK MTR. Once exit from arrival gate, go down 1 floor, you could find hotel reception desks. Chime Long Hotel and 星河灣酒店 have free shuttle to hotel. You could arrive into hotel before 11:30am, and this could avoid the queue by sea or bus travelled guests.
Day 1: After check in, take lunch, pm to Water World. Dinner in 四海一家.
Day 2: After enjoying the breakfast, whole day to Chime Long Paradise, lunch there. 7pm to watch the circue. Dinner in 漁民新村.
Day 3: After enjoying the breakfast, whole day to Safari Zoo. 5pm start return from hotel. Take GZ MTR No.3 line (漢溪長隆站) to GZ East Station (廣州東站) interchange at (體育西路站). Dinner in Guangzhou East and then take T827 train at 8:15pm to HKG.
Of course, you could take vessel or bus to / from Chime Long.
