budget : 雙人床4尺半x6尺3吋 below HK$10,000

u can try simmons and kingkoil. see if u can get smthn at your budget.

get a 5" instead of a 4.5", much more comfortable ga. i m using 5.5", i have very good sleep. even a 6xx sq ft can fit in a 5.5", your new flat is bigger tim la.

u may get a cheaper mattress (e.g. Airland) and buy a sinomax thin healthy mattress at around 2k. i have a 2.5" sinomax mattress costs only 9xx. when i sleep on it, i feel the same as lying on my 24k kingkoil mattress!

Hi there I'm going to ask a really silly question but when you use a 5.5 mattress, do you share one big quilt or use 2 single quilts?
heehee, just wondering if anyone "fight" for quilt when sleeping...

we use 1 quilt at a time, but 1 big blanket size towel for my HB. hehe, his mum bot the big towel for him from Yue Hwa a decade ago, he loves this towel although i want to throw it away! a few mths ago I watched an old chinese movie, one of the fishermans is using the same towel as blanket, hehe.

Thank you c-wong. I will talk to my furniture designer to see if we can have a 5' bed (I think 5.5' is no way). Both me and my husband are pretty thin and we have been using 4.5' bed for over 10 years! Although our new flat is 7xx sq ft (hehe, you remember !?), our bedroom will be much smaller than now, even smaller than my son's room (after renovated) !

kingkoil is good....but never try the most expensive style (the one they claimed its used by Dubai's 帆船酒店 President Suite)......

it costs $30,000 for the 6 ft' one..... but we used less than a month...... "粒"得好緊要.......

we paid the transportation cost again to get a new one...its the same after a month....

we don't know what to do....

but the one i used at my mum's home -- the cheapest style of kingkoil.... it was extremely good......

yes, Sealy is good too! but also expensive. i tried all mattress in stores, all are good.
for pillows, i like Dunlopillow. u can try their mattress too, the feel is different from traditional mattress. traditional ones have 'darn gung' inside, but D mattresses are made of 'Yu Gau'

My friend told me to go to MK New Century to try all the brands there.
We will tailor make new bed and may replace the mattress for my son as well. Am thinking if 3' or 3'6" would be better. But my sister said 3'6" might be an odd size that I will have to replace all his bedding stuffs and hard to find new ones !?

hehe, i ordered my mattress from MK new century! most of the shops there are small (except Simmons?) but u can find the brands u want there.

Oh Ruby I'm so excited for u!!! heeheehee I remember u bot new hse.

For mattress I like those individual pocket coils, so u can't feel yr partner toss & turn. This really works when u have wide mattress. I think the brands with this are Simmons, Slumberland and Kingcoil.

For yr son, yr sis is right. Get common size mattress b/c there's more chance that common size nice bedding go on sale. U'll find u have a lot more choice.

Heehee, so nice to see someone can go on buying spree. Since I need to save $ for downpaymt, I would have to get my "buy" spirit from reading these posts!

i now understand what u mean by 粒得好緊要 la. i sometimes feel backpain, i thought it's my prb, but then i realised it maybe the mattress prb. i changed 3 mattresses and beds in the past 5 years (what a waste). i thought we can use a mattress for up to 10 years, but it seems that it's not the case. or Kingkoil not that good?? i feel comfortable when sleeping on it, but in the morning have backache.

kingkoil is nice.....we have used it for about 4 years. It still supports us well.

no, the 3 mattresses different brands. i remember one of them is Airland at 6k+. 3 has the same problem that's why we changed it. kingkoil is the most comfortable already. i thought it's the bed problem, so i also changed the beds too!! (i bought 1 bed from Airland and another custom made and my current bed from Kingkoil)

yes yes.... exactly the same!!!!!!!!! extremely disappointed...... only lasts for few months.... (to be exact, 2 months only ~~) kingkoil is insane to use the wool stuff as the top layer......

haha you know what, we also turn up-side down of the mattress to avoid the "wool" top and see what happened....however, its the same!!!!!!

even the technician came and couldn't explain why... as i could remember, i paid another $200-300 to exchange a new one...but its the same!!!!

i was too lazy to call again..... i don't think they will exchange a new one for me anyway....

my husband keeps saying everyday to buy a new one....... but i really feel 肉赤 to throw away such an expensive mattress within a year.....

but the one i used to use at mum's home (before i get married) was extremely good...... lasts for many many years...and even now i will go back and stay overnight sometimes...the support is still good.... its also from kingkoil, but i thought i had picked a cheap model at that time.....

so what's your plan now? i really want to get rid of this mattress ~.~
