Any mummy know anything about meadowbank, is this suburb safe for family with little boy aged 3. I've checked the realestate.com.au.. why the rent is relatively low compare with eastwood or Ryde.....
Good things about Meadowbank:
- nice big park for exercise / bike / ball games etc.
- has ferry and train
- Meadowbank TAFE
Ideal area now would be east side of train line as the units between Bay Drive and Bowden Street are fairly new. With Aldi, Franklin, and a nice fruit & veg shop underneath. Plus close to train & ferry and park.
Bad things about Meadowbank (based on living there 10 years ago):
- it is a cheaper area in terms of house price
- a lot of units are rented out, and tenants don't look after it
- usually see abandoned furnitures / rubbish along Meadow Cresent and Bank Street
- used to be a popular spot for abandoned cars near the park (not too sure about now)
We lived there for a few years when we first got married. As we both worked and I drived everywhere - a lot of these don't affect me. We were lucky enough to have a unit at the back with living room kitchen and balcony facing the park - very sunny, nice outlook, and fairly private.
