I live in Hong Kong and want to hire a Philipino maid who has 2-yr Singapore experience. Today, she faxed over her passport pages to the agent. We found out that she only worked in Singapore for 1 year 10.5 months. There is a cancelled chop dated in mid-May but she left Singapore 13 days later as per the departure chop of immigration.
She claimed she left early to get married and turned down a job renewal offer. Then why did she spend anther 13 days there if not to look for another job.
We wonder if she is terminated early for wrong doing. Is it NORMAL to have a CANCELLED chop on a work visa if she resigned on her own? Does the cancelled chop mean she has been fired?
The Singapore consulate refuses to answer us due to her privacy. Does anyone know what a cancelled chop mean?...as we have to decide if we want her by tomorrow, else other people will hire her instead.
