My C6 and me quite like Cannan (Siu Sai Wan). We had an interview there on Oct 30th and received an offer for AM class. However, it is a bit too far away for me because we live in Kornhill. Since Mingwai in North Point accepts my son we will probably go for Mingwai and give up the offer from Cannan.
The environment is quite nice and teachers are nice and younger ^^ The teacher who interviewed my son was quite friendly and she told me that she's also teaching N1 class.
My niece studied in Central Cannan for 1 year and she enjoyed her days in Cannan very much. My sister also said the teachers were good and caring.
You can try 2nd round interview la. My niece was 0712 super small b she is also 插班生 only started her N1 class in Jan 2010 .
我個小朋友讀緊康傑N1,舊年康傑同迦南都收,但揀左康傑,純粹個人喜好,因為康傑N班日日都有NET英文堂,迦南N班得3日(根據去年資料)~~ so far康傑教的野都幾全面同個人覺得算深 (開左學2-3個月己經識讀英文短句,認晒英文顏色;中文開始認字(連圖畫);德育方面都幾注重,好多相關的故事同工作紙).....要留意的是家長參與都不少,佢地個個星期五都會派"功課",雖然只係簡單填下顏色,但係家長要同佢一齊做同睇圖書~~
Let me share my experience. My family just moved back to HK East for 2 months. My elder daughter and younger son are studying in K1 and K3 at Cannan respectively. I found the level in K3 is sufficient and can train her initiative and confident. My daughter has 3 homework everyday. She also has 週記/剪報 and reading report every weekend. She needs to bring 1 thing & do presentation in the class. She has Chinese & English dictation and test every week but are simple and related to the topic she learnt & her books. My younger son also startered to do exercise sheet (e.g. colouring, stamping, sticking colour paper in order to train his fingers) since last week. He did reading report every weekend. And the school delivers playcards designed by Cannan themselves before teaching every topic. My children enjoy playing these playcard very very much. The teachers will test them the words from the playcards. But I know some 嬸嬸 are not good as they worked for Cannan for many years and would separate their duties clearly. For example, if a student urinate, the 嬸嬸 working at kitchen should not help the teacher to clean the student and the floor. The student should wait for the right 嬸嬸. And the first time when I picked up my children, the 嬸嬸 is impoliteto me as I bring the old pick up card. But the teachers are nice and patient. They often called me reporting my children's status at school even at night that is out of their office hour.
