Mine has been with me for 2 months. She told me she woke up 5:30 at the start as she was used to at home. After a week, we found her woke up around 6. It's ok as we do not need her to wake up so early. Now, she wakes up 6:30 on school day and 7+ weekend. What she does is to mop the floor before we wake up. It is a good thing that she wakes up early that she can do some of the cleansing or feed your baby early morning (perhaps later after you feel comfortable on her).
Mine is very different. She eats a lot - meat, fish but not veggie and rice. She could eat 3 pcs of bread / bun. She does not have discipline on this. Once I bought her half catty of pork meat which she was told for two meals. She ate in one lot and smiled to us. She sometimes silently takes up some food for her own consumption (which we did not feel good).
She has the ability to do well but just lazy. She claimed there is a lot of workload and is looking for another job. She just did the cleansing so far.
From what you mentioned, I feel that she appreciated the job. Once she values the job, she can do well or can be trained to do well. Attitude and mentality is the most important element.
What you need to closely monitor is the possibility of her being influenced badly. Mine made friends easily on the streets and in the MTR. I learnt she met a few of those who were terminated. She talked and made friends in the carpark when she cleaned the car.
How about your old one? I recalled the contract is up to early next year.
Hope everything is smooth and good on you. Merry X'mas.
